Can't believe I am rooting for them. pull off the upset please!

I couldn't do it.
As much as I was impressed by Notre Dame's basketball team this season, I just couldn't root for them. I think it's because I've had too many arguments over the years with the nauseating New Jersey ND faithful that have never been to South Bend and probably never knew it was in Indiana.
They did play a great game and deserved to win IMO.

BTW, it was tough to watch Karl Towns being interviewed after the big win tonight and think for a second that he made the wrong decision in going to Lexington. I doubt we'll ever see Rutgers play a game like that on a stage like that.

We gave a great effort but give credit to UK for making us a little stagnant offensively down the stretch. Their length and athleticism off the charts and Harrison beats us off the bounce and gets to the rim for the FT's late .

Nonetheless a fabulous season for the team and one of the most enjoyable ND teams I've seen in my 50 plus years of following ND basketball.

I was rooting them as well. I like the way they used the basket when driving to thwart attempted blocks by UK. Would have hoped for a better last shot. They had 6 seconds and a full length of the court dribble down the left side that results in a heave from the corner while falling out of bounds seemed to play right into Kentucky's hands. I did not think Calipari was particularly gracious in his post game comment but he usually says what he believes to be the truth. At least he is consistent.

Notre Dame versus Kentucky was David versus Goliath with Kentucky having the overwhelming advantage in size and talent.Brey outcoached Calipari for 39 minutes and almost caused a similar upset to defeating a undefeated UCLA team many years ago.

Grant made a huge mistake on his last possession. He received the inbound pass and dribbled all the way to the left corner with 2 guys on him and throws up an almost impossible prayer. Two guys were wide open at the top of the key and just inside the key. He never even thought of passing the ball. ND usually does so well passing the ball but not on that last possession.

Knights 1212

Watch the replay----the reason he's down the left sideline is they force him there off the inbounds-----no way they're going to let him go right as like any right handed player you go faster.

As he's going down the sideline his vision is blocked by guys running parallel to him----6'8 and 6'10 guys.

If Grant could have passed it he would----not a selfish player.

Hated the TO we called with 15 seconds on the shot clock on our next to last possesion but Brey said he was trying to get his guys a blow as he felt liked they were gassed. I can't argue with that he's on the floor and he knows better than I do.

One thing I didn't like was our Out of Bounds play with 1 second on the clock from side court. It has to be a lob at the rim IMO. Now Willie Caulley Stein might have made a meal of it but maybe we draw a foul---------just my 2 cents.

A great game but Kentucky won the last 3 minutes and that's why they're still dancing.
