While Nova appears to be "late" to offer the 5* SG/SF out of Austrailia and playing at IMG Academy in Florida, I'm posting this because I am completely aware of how certain schools "offer".

The other schools that have offered the wing player are the usual suspects of Kansas, Arizona, Oregon, UCLA, UVA, UConn, USC, Duke, Georgetown, TCU, Stanford, Maryland....my guess is that every potential school in the country has offered.

I know certain offers impact other recruits and it just factors into how some schools decide when to offer and when to not offer.

I mentioned how Eric Dixon out of PA, was waiting for the Villanova offer, which essentially ended his recruitment....Now I'm not saying Nova swoops in and lands Green, but it's another indication on how far up the food chain a school like Nova and others are shooting.

Does this help with Mulcahy.....does this help with players like Hyatt.....Massoud....??

I'm not saying this has any impact, but a player that you'd figure would have an offer from Nova, just received one. As the pecking order gets reset and reorganized, we had names last spring like Frankie Policelli out of Long Island.....Samba Diallo.....and a host of others that were very high on the board of some schools....as recently as 6 months ago, Diego Willis landed an offer from Rutgers, after a strong weekend....Willis is visiting NJIT....Policelli just committed to Dayton.....Diallo went to I believe UMass....12 months ago, these were high profile names that saw their stock change last spring and summer.

So while we believe we have it all figured out as we push into this spring evaluation season and summer circuit...names will pop up on the surface, others will cool off....the best thing is to not overvalue any one player, because dominoes may fall and schools like Rutgers (Harper/McConnell/Young) benefitted greatly from a white-hot grad transfer market.....schools like Dayton get a steal in Policelli....I'm not sure if Willis is a high major or mid major player, but if NJIT is on RU's or Seton Halls schedule this season and has a 14 point, 6 rebound, 4 assist game, fans will wonder "what happened to that player"?? "He could have gone to a bigger school, maybe we can get his to transfer after this season"??

This is to make sure we don't get fooled by what name you have heard about the longest time as some sort of indication of how talented the player is....or isn't......there are mounds of talented players out there....RU is sitting in a very unique spot to finally round out the roster and stop the bleeding of not having enough talent or pieces.

Let the dominoes start to fall and let's see where kids actually do land and where they don't.....this offer for Green is one I will be keeping an eye out on, not because I have any specific knowledge on Nova or the prospect, but whether this offer changes the players recruitment or not....

What happened with Willis and us that he's visiting NJIT? I guess we backed off?

I don't know, but Maryland had interest, RU had interest and an offer among others....I'm leery of saying that's how good he is or isn't, my guess is that schools perhaps went in different directions....I would guess one good season erases that.

I'll use Izaiah Brockington as an example.....apparently committed to NJIT around the end of his junior season, solid player out of Philly.......then decided to decommit after he signed with NJIT and I believe went to St. Bonnies for his freshman season after flirting with a Prep season to see if he could raise his stoc........averaged 4PPG in 11 minutes a game and shot 41.5% fro 3....had 20 vs TCU this past season...

While these numbers don't jump off the page,Bonnie's had some guards ahead of him and he looked like the next batch of players that could help keep them at the Top half or quarter of the A10....where he lands (not sure).....

There are countless stories of kids that don't hit their stride right away...maybe not until they keep working and become juniors or seniors....but I would think he could be like a mid major player that thinks he can play at a different level, where he gets featured more....my guess would be Willis does well at NJIT and would be curious if he sticks it out, all 4 years.

Was told today that Nova is taking a hard look at the Cremo kid from Albany as a grad transfer.

Afraid they could lose Di Vincenzo to NBA-----he's climbing up draft boards.

Looking at the site and where they have Divenzenzo placed, I think he is probably gone. He has the skill set required for the next level.

The amount of players transferring from HM to MM is staggering. Also the reverse.

You really have to have a good eye, and be able to assess character.

I saw BIG TEN players leaving, and some coming.

I think Finke from Illinois was a great player. He is leaving. Happy to hear it. I wish him luck at his next destination.

I don't think he does------not that it matters because if you're a 1st Rd pick you have to go.

Don't judge his whole game by the Final 4

Athletically he's fine but he's very inconsistent with the ball.

Agree with td that DD needs work on his handle, defense and to get a little stronger before he goes anywhere.

As a scout, if you look at him and his shooting numbers, and his ability to stay with people athletically, they will take him.

Big games are the best to judge a player off of. Pick the worst opponent and best opponent and compare the numbers. He shows up for both.

Absolutely, he was great in the Natty game, but, a few games before that he was a turnover machine. I remember watching and thinking, " wow, this guy is not very good". He had a lot of trouble against West Virginia and their pressure. He looked really uncomfortable with the ball in his hands. He had 6 Turnovers against West Virginia.

With that said, I still think his game is better suited to the next level than Brunson. He is athletic and can shoot.

He averaged two turnovers on the year and will not be the primary ball handler at the next level.

Hawk, how big an impact do think one “over achieving” season for Ru (say a strong NIT run or B10 loss in tourney championship) would have on recruiting.

They don't have " primary ball handlers " in the NBA .

It's a very non traditional game.

Kid needs to work on his handle----you can't play in the backcourt in the NBA without it.

If he leaves he'll have lots of time in the G League working on it IMO.

Brunson will be in the league for 8-10 years IMO-----never a star but a solid rotation guy----knows how to play----tough defender----doesn't have an ego.

Well see how it shakes out. Every one does touch the ball now more, so like you said, everyone must handle it. I like Brunson as well. He has a great amount of versatility and is a tough player. Where are the Irish going to be next year? I saw Matt Farrel this past summer and wished him luck. He will succeed somewhere.

In this day and age, i think there's not a season that defines where recruiting can go...i think it's "moments", where you make a splash...i also think it's limiting some of the ugly losses OR being more competitive against better competition.

I think there are stages of a rebuild that impact recruiting...

Mostly winning or springing upsets at home, in front of your fans...

Next would be being consistent with your talent level or minimize the wild/roller coaster of winning by 10 then losing by 18 5 days later.....

After you get people's attention at home and opponents aren't exactly 100% focused coming into the RAC, you still have to win those games anyway.

Then the toughest part of execution away from your home court 1 or 2 times in your conference against quality opponents.

RU historically has thrived on the RAC, but it was the stage of not harnessing the power to win away in the A10 and early BIg East....

Recruits ultimately want to feel like they are going to play, have an impact and be a part of something. A lot of fans are false in their belief that past winning helps, it's really the biggest myth of recruiting....it gives fans that false bravado but there are kids that pick a school thinking they are along for a ride of more winning, vs making sure it continues....

Talent is fine, but in recruiting, finding kids with something to prove or willing to work exceeds talent 90% of the time ( as long as the talent gap isnt 5* vs walk ons...).

As much as people want to believe Jacob Young is a chucker that is me first (he may be, i have no idea), there something there that says he's out to prove people wrong...Mathis doubled down on himself, when he could've blended in at Virginia Tech or Xavier and coasted...McConnell is out to prove he was slighted in recruiting...

Before we jump ahead, someone relayed to me that Nova commit Eric Dixon wanted to play at Nova or the highest rated school on the board if Nova didn't offer.....while that may not matter and he's going to be a strong player for Jay Wright, Nova has avoided the primadonnas in recent years...

So there is something to finding fit in recruiting and wins and moments give recruits a chance for a 2nd or 3rd look to see how a program is changing....I think MSG salvaged a LOT, 8K RU fans vs Purdue at MSG signaled things are changing.

I would have thought they were at greater risk of losing Spellman than Donte. Maybe Jay ought to look at those NBA openings a little harder. The Knicks should be all in if he expresses any interest. Of course why would he want to work for an idiot like Dolan other than to get paid.

Why would he leave ?

Maybe for the 76ers ?

Maybe for the Eagles ? :):):)

Jay Wright is pretty dug in at Nova

Very young-----supposedly the best class we've brought in in many years

Beat schools we normally don't beat for kids----Nova , UNC etc-----we'll see

I think Farrell ends up overseas-----always liked his game------didn't like him as a kid.

Gotcha. Nice!

I remember the video of his brother in the military attending his game. He seemed like a good kid, but I did not follow the team like you.
