Get a guy that has had success at the professional or semipro level. We need a proven commodity. Not a guy that might be better suited at the north jersey Catholic’sNunzia been out of high for 5 years now. Stupid comment.

How is respect from the NJ coaching community going to translate into an offense that actually scores points or is even fundamentally competent?Nunz is HIGHLY respected by the NJ coaching community
That’s a big factor
But if I’m GS I keep my options open for a new OC
Rutgers has always struggled to recruit 5-stars.How
How many 5 stars are going to accept the NIL benefits Rutgers will offer? And you blame the coaches? It will be difficult with 4 stars.
where does this current class compare the rest of the big10?Is he ? This board says recruiting sucks
Is this class done ? Is there no more room in the 2023 class ?where does this current class compare the rest of the big10?
I have no inside info and will say this: not happening.Sounds like he’s the likely guy to be our permanent OC. . . .
I give Nunzio much credit for taking over twice under very tough circumstances and doing a credible job under obvious difficulties. That said Rutgers needs to get a well known OC that will convince recruits that we're heading in the right direction on offense. What the offense lacks most of all are quality recruits , especially at WR and OL. Yes Nunzio is highly respected by the NJ coaching community but it hasn't resulted in big time recruits.Nunz is HIGHLY respected by the NJ coaching community

doesn't matter. this isn't the NBA.What if Gavin wants Nunz?
Gavin didnt want GS to recruit a QB either...Can't have a 19 y/o run your programWhat if Gavin wants Nunz?
Who cares what he wants? Seriously the kid has even proven himself as a capable starter yet you want him picking offensive coordinators? The only reason people are infatuated with him is because some recruiting site gave him 4 stars. If he was a 3 star recruit I am sure people would be treating him a lot different. What if Gavin wants Nunz?
What has hurt the QBs is the hiring of multiple OCs that have not competently taught the position. Hiring an OC that takes the position seriously and actually teaches Wimsatt how to be a QB would be the best thing for Wimsatt's development. Is it good for Wimsatt's development for him to have a new OC? We've changed OCs so many times over the years, and each time posters have said that continual changes hurt our QBs. Has something changed?
If this was the NBA, he'd either be sent to the G league or he'd be waving towels from the bench during garbage time in blowouts.doesn't matter. this isn't the NBA.
Yes that hurts QB development but the reason for the OC turnover is the micromanaging HC who forces conservative philosophy on OCs rendering the offense impotent. And when his pop warner schemeWhat has hurt the QBs is the hiring of multiple OCs have not competently taught the position. Yes, the swing and miss on Gleeson has hurt us. Nunzio isn't the answer. We need to get an experienced OC to run the offense and bring in his own QB coach. They're out there. What has hurt the QBs is the hiring of multiple OCs have not competently taught the position. I agree, but . . . If I were a law clerk hired by a conservative judge, I would do my best to follow what he wants to do. If I were an OC hired by Greg Schiano, I would run a conservative offense because that's what he wants and he's the boss. If I weren't willing to run a conservative offense, I wouldn't take the job -- just as I wouldn't take a job working for a conservative judge if I wasn't prepared to do what he wanted. I don't know how many OCs there are out there who want to run the kind of offense that suits Schiano, but those are the only ones who should even think about applying for the job.Yes, the swing and miss on Gleeson has hurt us. In his 2 years here he hasn’t shown us much besides his first collegiate pass against Illinois (which was a bee bee). Since then it’s been a snooze fest. Seems like a nice kid but doesn’t have the right stuff imho.Who cares what he wants? Seriously the kid has even proven himself as a capable starter yet you want him picking offensive coordinators? Exactly what I saw too- early on- some of the best play calling I have seen in a while. Even that deep slant- that has not been a part of our game forever. OL does it job a little better and Gavin hits his throws. Completely different game.If our QB hit his looks we score 21 points in the first quarter on Saturday. Not saying Nunzio is the answer, but I am also not saying he should go.
Our OL is 1-2 years away. Our QB is 1-2 years away. Our RBs will be better next year. We have some young talent at WR. and We do not have a TE.
I just don’t buy this. Schiano said that his view of a good offense had changed when he was hired, and then he hired a guy who tried to run an offense that wasn’t conventional and spread the field. That guy didn’t work out, so next. Do you think Schiano was lying? To whom? And why? And of course he can get a good OC, particularly if RU spends.I agree, but . . . I hope you're right that he's not wed to a conservative offense. Maybe he just thought that what the OC wanted was too advanced for our personnel's current level of development, but that he's willing to open it up more in the future.I just don’t buy this. The current class ranks 12th in the B1G. If not for the numerous amount of Recruits (16) vs. the last 2 teams we would be at the very bottom. Not one 4 star ( vs. 6 last year). Their are serious shortfalls on talent for incoming OL and WR. Someone mentioned we have good underclassmen talent on the WR corps. Really ?? Other than Chris Long we have nobody.where does this current class compare the rest of the big10?
There aren’t any. Instead will have to hire an experienced position coach who doesn’t care about career growth any more and just wants the extra retirement cash.I agree, but . . .
