50 years ago tonight,Yogi told reporters who asked him about his ejection over an apparent grand slam homer turned into a single by the second base umpire who ruled that the ball had hit the concrete fence(in play)-rather than the wood fence immediately behind the first fence(a home run):

"Anyone who can't hear the difference between wood and concrete must be blind".

Thanks for this memory. Makes me nostalgic for the old days of unprepared honesty rather than today's 10 second politically correct sound bites. Remember when Yogi was questioned about his conversation when meeting with the Pope? What did the Pope have to say? "He said , Hi Yogi" Well then, what did you say to the Pope? "I said, Hi Pope"!

It never fails. I could be having a crappy day - dealing with all kinds of stress - but show me a solid Yogism and I can't help breaking into a big smile.
