Why are some Rutgers posters always gawking over every team being god-like? I get there are some very good teams, but some fans here put them on a pedestal and begin to worship them. I have a healthy respect for other teams, but I also know games aren't played on paper. So there is a chance be it even if it's 1%. I will never build another team up at the expense of mine. I love my school too much to do that. I have read some of the most disrespectful post by people who claimed to be life-long Rutgers fans... UnF'ing believable.:(

Teams that are consistent winners get notice and teams that are consistent losers get ridicule.Sports is all about winning and Rutgers needs to do a better job .Pikiell is starting the process of building respect.

You can show respect for another team without putting down your team. Example: Michigan State plays great "on the ball" defense or Illinois made a great hire in their new coach. Not Michigan State plays great "one the ball" defense and let's not forget Corey's lazy passes or Illinois is superior to Rutgers even though Rutgers did beat them last year. Too often I read posters throwing cheap shots at our players while trying to make a point about other teams. It's uncalled for and not require when making a point.

The only posts I make about other teams we play are recognizing that we are playing in an elite conference and there are a few teams that are at a different level. Nothing to do with our team and what we are building.

Not you. I saw an earlier post by Rutgers25 on another thread doing exactly what I said. I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion, but those individuals shouldn't be shock to receive some backlash from other Rutgers fans. It's like coming into someone's home and talking smack about it or them. What type of response do you expect in return?

Doug, I know you played for CU as well as RU but you’ve got to see a bit of irony that you created this thread and post on Scarlet Nation a lot yet you identify yourself as CUBuffsDoug, right?

For the 12th time I had another user name "KnightBuffs", but for some reason I can't use it anymore. This was from years ago and when the format was changed. The reason for my current username is what some of the guys called me when I first arrived at RU. I hated the nickname, but I've grown to appreciate it because "my teammate" gave me that name. It's that bond you create with guys who have similar experiences good and bad, so there is no irony in it.
