OFFICIAL RU/Copper State game thread

I did notice Sanders and his palm shooting. He should seriously work on a set shot and improve his release and arc. Trouble is that he usually has the ball on the dribble and has to shoot over guys taller than he is. Guys like Thiam can sit in the corner and wait.

Hard to believe that there is a team that shoots worse than we do but CSU fills the bill.

Hate to be negative but not sure what Souf brings to table besides moving the ball . No threat whatsoever on offense

I've listened to feeds on WRSU and WCTC and they're both impatient. Everybody's impatient. If the the team has a chance to settle in and not press the shots will fall. We'll know when we have a special shooter on the team. We don't yet.

I’m afraid when we play Forida State, we are not going to know what the hell just hit us.

Normally Mensah would be in for a cuppa souf. But his PT today looks like a punishment for Corey.

Scores please. Had to leave right after the Anthem, as my wife thinks she broke her ankle...at St Peters now to get xrays...

Same. Their length is going to give us hell. They're not exactly the best scorers, but we won't have time to mess around like we've done with Coppin and CCSU.

I think we need to play a real team and get our asses kicked. That’s how you get better.

IIRC, Kiss got off to a bad start in shooting but his 3 point shooting far improved the 2nd half of his freshman year

He actually shot worse in MAAC play (26%) than in the OOC. Maybe it was a fatigue issue and the year off for strength and conditioning will help.

Oh boy this team is in trouble...the game is about outside shooting and this is amongst the worst ever at RU shooting the 3

hm ok then I stand corrected

He and the other freshman that transferred to St. John's had to shoulder the load for them, so a smaller role here may help. But the other one (Dixon) was a 37% three-point shooter, he would've been a nice get.

Should any of us be worried that there is so much talk on this thread about next year!

Really have to question the scholarship to Souf. Hard to believe there was nothing better. The kid Thomas on Coppin State is better. I love Pike, but it was curious choice. We all knew and got shouted down ny some. It's obvious now

We have started to open it up three or fours times and let them back in it each time. Have to be able to put these teams away. Up 16 let's see if we expand the lead here

Agree..I absolutely hate this scheduling...all it does is magnify the shortcomings...not playing a road game is just bad on all levels

We need this scheduling. Will we ever recruit well coming off 7-12 win seasons every year?

We won 3 B1G games last year in reg season and people expect to win 5 or 6 games now. Would oh expect that if we went .500 OOC last year? Nope.

RU's poor offense is being exacerbated with all the fouls by Coppin. No rhythm to our game. 55-34, 7:14 remaining.

Up 21, about time. We should have been up by this amount in the first half against this team.

Wins is all that matter. Rutgers had a poor OCC schedule last year but the 11-2 start waa very good for perception...including some national press.

We disagree here. I’m ok with a soft schedule but I’d be surprised if this wasn’t the weakest OOC Of any P5 team.

I’d rather be a better team when the B1G schedule hits than be padding our record with nobodies. It lends itself to not be as ready for the big boys as we could be when that schedule kicks in. Getting blasted by Michigan State by 20 rather than 50 makes a difference also.
