Ohio State / Illinois Canceled

Read an article that seemed to indicate testing is scheduled but not every player every time.

Anyone have insight into the testing regimen for Rutgers and other BIG teams? I always presumed it was everybody every time a test was administered with additional testing if a person was positive.

This is a huge development potentially ... because if Macnamara punks tOSU, then Indiana still wins the East since 6-1 is a higher win percentage than 5-1 .... despite OSU beating Indy. Will be interesting to see though, if OSU wins out still they will be the champs

Thought that everyone on the team had to get tested every day, but according to early October article there is a cap of 170 people to be tested.

"Over the course of the next few hours, that group will test up to 170 people for the novel coronavirus and give results in about 20 minutes, determining whether they're OK to participate that day or go into isolation and get more testing."
"Testing is capped at 170 people

Under Big Ten regulations, the football team each week identifies 170 people who will be tested and can be in close contact as part of practices and games. Those who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 90 days and have recovered aren't subject to testing, Moll said.
The group of 170 is considered to be Tier 1. A Tier 2 group includes other essential game personnel that aren't present on practice days but are required for games. The latter includes officials, team physicians and video staff, and they're tested both on game day and the previous day."

Didn't Ryan Day bitch when Maryland had to cancel their game with OSU. Now OSU had to cancel the game. Just STFU Ryan.

Got a link to his bitching? No of course you don't. If it were not for Nebraska and tOSU there would have been no football played in the B1G this year.

Of course MSU could come down with it and screwed are the buckeyes...or whomever they would play in the game 9 slot.

This is incorrect. If 2 or more teams have the same amount of conference losses but a different amount of conference wins, head to head results will take precedence over winning percentage as long as the teams played enough games to qualify.

Everyone knew this was probably going to be the outcome when they started so late. BIG owns this mistake.

And they are compounding it by not having a plan for rescheduling games.

The delay in starting the B1G season gave every school/team ample time to establish safety protocols and keep exposures and health risks to a minimum. There aren’t many valid excuses for a team not being able to complete a six game schedule. If you can’t keep your team on the field then look in the mirror if you want to find someone to blame.

This is all on that mental midget WARREN...This is HIS **** up...this failure is on HIM...period! Regardless of what programs could have done, it was incumbent on the conference to have a plan...they DID NOT. Leadership 101...and Warren pooped the bed.

The only B1G teams that are at risk to not play 6 games are those that failed to contain COVID in their own home. OSU’s coaches and players knew they had to mind themselves if they wanted to play for the championship. They didn’t do it. It’s on them and nobody else for not being able to play today and maybe next week.
