Maybe if Flood gets canned at year end the next coach has a better process for choosing the correct qb
Well, Flood says Laviano knows his playbook better, if a new coach comes in
they both will be new to new playbook. Then the new coach will be more fair
to each.

At this point, i'd dumb down the play book for Rettig since he offers a more powerful throwing threat with even a dumbed down playbook all because he can stretch the field and get it quickly to receivers.
It is what WSU did for Falk after loss to Portland State the first week and he threw for 514 and 6tds today.

Loves RU is one thing. A kid with NFL potential needs to play. If he has to drop down a level then so be it. Sitting behind Laviano and never playing has to seem unacceptable.
His twitter account has posts like homesick on it. You never know because a kid's mind can change but transferring to a FCS school in CA like Cal Poly or UC Davis is possible.

He'll have a whole year at backup learning the playbook. Even Ray Lucas said it on the postgame, next year the QB battle will be a lot different.
I dont understand why he has not got more playing time. If the # 1 team in the country use both their QB's and ensure all their skill players touch the ball and we do that for our running backs, then why not our QB's. Plus, why dont we use play action when team have 7-8 players in the box on first down? How many teams in the nation dont throw to a 6-6 WR with good hands?
Considering Rutgers has a new OC every year, that answer is complete horseshit.
He has a nice arm....so did Jeff George. And by most accounts I've seen Joe Montana had an average to below average arm. (Obviously not saying Retting is George or certainly that Montana is Laviano - lol)
Backup QB always the most popular person on the team - but I could get on board with trying out Rettig because why not? That being said my gut is that Laviano is definitively the better overall QB and Rettig would drive us all crazy.

If your QB doesn't have good arm strength, 2 things will happen. 1.) DBs will "sit" on the short routes and 2.) the safety or safeties can wait till the very last minute to break on the ball (which allows them to effectively cover more ground). Neither of these are good for the offense.

I had sold my tix to last night's game for big profit and also because I can't stand knowing that our best QB is the backup.

Our head coach is clueless. so frustrating for fans knowing there is NFL talent getting splinters on the bench. Flood is an imbecile in managing the QBs. He showed this at Kent State and it has only gotten worse. No coach in pee-wee through the NFL would keep playing a QB after 6 interceptions, No coach ever, except the one we are stuck with.
Is your gut feeling something you saw? Or just a feeling based on Laviano's play.
Rettig has shown a quicker release, more accuracy, much more speed , better spiral and more distance, gets away from sacks better and is averaging 8.7 yards
per carry. I think gut feelings from a coach shouldn't be more important than everything he as shown everytime he is out there. He must be given a chance
as soon as possible.
