One more time for the fans... #FreeChol

I remember years ago, forget the kids name, but we got the leading cc scorer Ithe national. He was a bust.

A few majors are showing interest, but no major offers. New Mexico is in the lead right now. However, if Pitino leaves, I don't see him headed to The Pit. Perhaps he'll follow Pitino to wherever he ends up?
Is Arizona state offer a typo? Idk but regardless good for him

Johnnie Blake led all Junior College scoring in 1995 before transferring to Rutgers in 1996.
Shot like in the 50% range from 3 in Jr college and Wentzel said when asked sbout Blake’s shooting prowess, “heck that’s a good percentage in an empty gym!”

If pike knew we were going to change the way we play defense to hide the fact that most of our players cant stay in front of their man or fight through picks he should have had Chol back

How many players on this roster is Chol better than?
Would have to see him actually play. My recollection is he wasn't aggressive at all, and was beyond lost on defense. Like, unplayably lost.

Chol stuck out like a sore thumb because of his defense. He wouldn't have with this team.

We were 14-16 last year and 14-16 this year. Chol with his defense wasn't allowed to see the court last year. We had no choice for Chol like defenders to see the court this year. 14-16 was the result .

The coaching at CC level was much better than he got from Pikell and the 3 stooges sitting to his right.

So great that he had to settle for a mid major team. I'll bet many of those high major offers were fictitious and put out by the agent in an attempt to drum up interest like we saw with Sommerville and McMiller.

Rooting against him?

New Mexico would’ve beat us by 15 last year

You missed the entire point in your rush to post. Many of the negatiods were going on and on about look at how much Chol developed when his agent claimed all those high major offers and that it was clearly Pike not being able to develop him. Yet he only wound up at a mid major where because I'm almost certain many of the names put out on social media never really offered and provided examples of what we've seen with RU players where the agent embellished things.

Going G5 for him is smart, get a little $, and if he is actually good this year, a big pay day for his final year. I'm assuming he would have gotten very little going higher than G5 if the offers were there.

Yes, I agree. The one thing we don’t know is if he’s going in as a starter or coming off the bench. Unless his defense has improved I’m thinking bench role.

That was one in a long line of Wenzel busts: Jamar Holcombe, Johnny Mcrimmon, Andre Lamoreux, Rich Ashmede, Darko Matejasevic, etc.

Your "victory" lap on this is sad. New Mexico was the best team in a G5 conference last year. It's a good program. People thought Chol was a bum. He is proving the doubters wrong by crushing it in juco and landing in New Mexico

Yeah, hard to tell, but he's an early add for them. New Mexico pretty much lost their team when coach left. Think two or three have now followed from UC San Diego, and only one freshman coming in. Got commits yesterday from brothers from USC, one of which was a walk on there.

It's not really a victory lap because I hope the kid has some success in his career. It's to remind all the morons that fester on this board that they know very little about anything in their desire to spew hate towards Pike and the coaches in every thread.
