Online Petition to Fire Flood

Get this to Politi and Duggan too. The more shame heaped onto Barchi, the more he will be forced into a corner.

And get ready to boo your brains out for the PSA and any other baloney the staff pulls.

What is the over under on the money donated to RU collectively in this thread?

Signed. -Anything that might get the word out to the powers that be in the RU admin. is worth doing.

The 113 of you that have signed must be so proud. RU's deci$ion has $urely been made by now, good or bad. But hey, if this is what gets your rocks off? No innocent victims, so knock yourselves out.

Maybe after you've moved Barchi's needle, you guys can start another petition to ask ISIS to, you know, knock it off with the terrorism stuff. Yeah, you've got about the same chance with them of a meaningful "change" as you do with Old Queens.

The path this thread has taken seems fascinatingly similar to the GoFundMe campaign to fire Flood. People post their opinions and contribute signatures and/or donations that are significant in principle rather than sheer number, then after a day or two the the threads get less attention and fall down the list headed toward irrelevancy. That is, until the Rutgers foundation issues a detailed statement decrying the foundation, and posters bump this petition thread just to note how silly, useless, or juvenile it is. Within 36 hours the GoFundMe campaign was on track to raise $10K and was featured in several regional sports media outlets before it was shut down; will the latter also start gaining more widespread attention, just by those looking to stop it. Keep in mind that petition isn't going to just disappear..

Yes, as the Flood supporters point out, it may have no effect. However, without a boatload of money with which I can influence the administration, signing petitions and sending emails is about all I can do. I will not renew my tickets if the administration does not invest in this program and hire a qualified head coach. If they do not, at least I voiced my opinion.

I agree with you completely. Guess my point is moreso that bumping this thread to criticize this petition may very well cause the opposite of the effect intended by Flood supporters, rationalizers, or morally "superior" posters.

Because now we're reaching the point where anger turns to apathy. Very dangerous line Rutgers is walking and it will grow with every second he is kept as coach.

Ding Ding Ding

Watch what happens surrounding this program the next 6-9 months presuming he is retained.

Watch the RU gear end up on the closeout racks. Watch the traffic on this and other sites drop. Watch the comments on nj.com articles drop. Watch season ticket cancellations increase. Watch donations fall. Watch apathy set in.

The point that people are missing in the comments of "you think Barchi cares about you?" is this fanbase doesn't have willing people waiting in some mystery line behind those of us that drop out.

This fanbase has proven that it will watch shitty football. There is a difference between shitty football and the message sent by everyone from an arrogant defiant Fludd, to a duct tape over her mouth Julie, to a President and BOG that is being penny wise and pound foolish.

You literally CANNOT GIVE A CONFERENCE TICKET AWAY for tomorrow. Let that set in. If anyone told you 3 years ago that you would not be able to hand a ticket to someone for a Big Ten conference game you would have laughed in their face.
