Is it my imagination that opponent players always seem to get healthy when Rutgers is the next team on their schedule? Maybe other team's medical and rehab and conditioning staff are doing better jobs at getting players ready faster to return to the lineup and participate? Some of our players have missed many consecutive games ... With no sense from reading newspaper and message board notes and comments from the coach that their return is imminent or likely or that the player will contribute before too long.

That's the rule- other teams have almost everyone come back the week they play us while our guys jam their fingers and end up getting gangrene and being out for 12 weeks.

That's funny Mr. Twister...I was thinking the same thing last week. I'm not a Debbie Downer or "woe with me" fan like many people on this board, but it does seem like a crazy coincidence. Of course, we have also seen key players from our opponents, like quarterbacks, go down, only to be replaced by backups who performed even better than the starters. Go figure.

Are some of the issues with prolonged absence and not contributing on the field a matter of putting together a case for a Medical Redshirt?

When you are possibly still not 100%, It may well be decided on just who you will be playing against. Top team with small chance of doing all that well and maybe getting beat up in the process? Maybe sit another week.
On the other hand, not so good team with a real chance of lighting up your stats, put me in coach!
