OT: 2019-20 NY Mets Offseason "Hot Stove" Thread

Serious question: Since AJ Hinch (AJH) is BFF with BVW, how long until the World Series is over will the Mets announce the trade to send ****, ****, ****, ****, and **** for Hinch? Would you do it since hes actually a good manager and was basically thrown under the bus this week by Houston's Front Office for their idiodicy and is probably regretting that contract extention?

Is this the "bombshell" candidate that is hitting the rumor mill?

No way I'd ever trade players for a manager, any manager. Wait, on second thought, would they take Cano with a side order of Diaz???

As for hot stove- even though he was injured, dovwe take a chance on Betances or try for Chapmen
What RP’s would you guys go for and what about infield and maybe a starter as I doubt we resign Wheeler?

Probably. He and BVW are apparently BFFs. Plus Hinch was basically thrown under the bus for something he didnt do (that Houston official yelling to female reporters about Robert Osuna after their clinch). Hes done a great job down there but trading for him (who's contract is up in 2022)?

Per multiple sources, Girardi to Phillies. No surprise.

Might've been nice if it could've worked here, but it couldn't, so it's best that it didn't.

Never in doubt that Girardi to Phils would be announced today. Congrats to them, and eagerly awaiting BVW's next blunder to throw onto the pile.
This has EDUARDO PEREZ written all over it

Rooting for Beltran now I guess, but whatever. If RU lands GS, I'll cope.

It could be worse"San Diego Padres Names Jayce Tingler as New Manager". Heard he's 1st cousins with this porn star, Dirks Diggler, lmao

Interesting article by Joel Sherman of NYP, on the Mets essentially passing on Girardi. His thesis is that BVW was looking for a long-term partner, someone he could bond with. Not surprisingly, he didn't bond with Girardi, who doesn't seem like that kind of guy.

Does make some sense. To an agent, the value of personal relationships is all important.

Note to self, that didn't take long,Lmao. To all the Yankee fans that call ME the shit stirrer, unreal.
Based on your reply to me in the locked thread, I scrolled through the Mets Season thread again from the beginning and only saw only 1 post by Proud (or any of your 3 amigos) early on. I gave up after 10 pages but found this little ditty:

"Is Kbee in the timeout chair?

248 ruready4somefootball, Apr 4, 2019"

I guess we do know who the biggest troll on these boards is now? Even your fellow Mets fans called you out on it. I think you need to go back to work and take a break from these boards. [cheers]

Did you notice who's already in on page one of this one?? Probably not, since CNN isn't reporting it,lol. I'll take a pass on the going back to work thing, and yes, I asked where Kbee was, because he would usually have several ball busting comments by then, and yes, he was in the timeout chair, so since I've never been in one, I'm pretty sure your mistaken AGAIN, on who the boards biggest Troll is.

Here's the bombshell, "Mets to name Jeff Wilpon as their new manager". I'd bet the purse strings would open then.

Define a long term relationship? I would say BVW has at max 2 to get into the post season otherwise he is gone. That will coincide with Jarred Kelenic's ROY. campaign.

Agreed - he's digging his way out of a deep hole in my book after 1 year (all starting with move 1), so can't stomach any potential 'long-term' dreams. After this past week with Alfonso and now Girardi, the hole is getting only deeper.

A lot of folks are ripping the Mets because they'll be hiring an inexperienced manager. A lot of those same folks were ripping the Mets not long ago because they didn't hire the inexperienced Wally Backman.

In all seriousness, I thought Kbee (and the rest of the 3 amigos) was very restrained this year in the Mets thread. Based on all the Mets fans killing the team, there really wasn't much more a Yankee fan had to add to that thread. I actually stopped reading it by mid-season when it was too overbearing. That being said, I think you missed the banter with him this year. Only near the end of the season did it pick up.

Let's hope the Mets hire a good manager and see what that young team can do.

Actually, not much here I disagree with you on.I did miss the give and take with Kbee, I really did, and don't understand why anyone would cry to the Mods. When he stopped the repeating stuff, and took on each topic head on, always with a different angle, he was by far the best, very best of The 3 Amigos!!! Now, Proud NJ Shit Stater, that's a totally different story. He can't figure out when the start times of Yankee playoff games are, yet he has the time to come up with * insane* comments and digs that, no doubt provoke me to inject way more than I ever plan to. But that's OK, since like you know, I HAVE ALL DAY!!!![banana]Section 124, have a nice off season and plan on getting pissed off at me during the coming months since I can't help myself, and don't have the discipline to let anything anti- Mets slide. I know my weakness and have come to grips with it.I regret only one thing, raising both my sons as Mets fans, subjecting them to a life of suffering and ridicule, lol. I won't make the same mistake with my Granddaughter, hopefully convincing my oldest, not to repeat my mistake.:Laughing

If it is Beltran I will surely keep an open mind as I'm sure he's accumulated a wealth of baseball knowledge, and seen about all there is to see on the field during the course of his long career.

Yeah. Mets and RU fan. Very tough. Please don’t tell me you are a Knicks fan? I feel bad I raised my kids to be RU fans as well.

Unless we strike gold like the Red Sox with Cora, not hiring Girardi when he wanted the job will be a mistake. Only positive is hopefully next hire will work well with nucleus and with management. The latter 2 reasons are why Girardi got let go from the Yankees. The new norm in baseball is hiring these ex players with minimal experience such as Cora, Boone, Ross etc. If so, I think it’s Beltran or AJ Hinch though latter will cost a player

One can hope we blew off the layup for a slam dunk. I’m sure you laughed when the Red Sox picked Cora and the Yankees signed Boone. Time will tell if Beltran or AJ Hinch is the guy
Cora blew this season. Last year was probably just dumb luck for him, along for the ride with a team that just clicked.

How many players and who?

Re Hinch, has there been any report of actual interest? All I have seen so far is mere speculation.
