McNeil needs to play every day.

Brodie bordering on an A+ this off-season - team is light years better. Lowrie disaster (in lieu of say a Keuchel) my lone gripe.

Nimmo off to an awful start at top of order and still on the verge of 2-0

Agreed but Frazier is toast. Lowrie is good. Frazier needs to be the come off the bench guy.

Agreed, but Lowrie’s knee makes this a no brainer for me. Expecting zero from him at this point as well as Cespedes.

Lowrie will be back and an asset. Hell of a ball player Cespades will take time to get in game shape. Frazier I love for obvious reasons but I don't know what he has left

I know its only two games but just let these kids go and play without worrying about Frazier and/or Lowrie for now. And im including Dom Smith in this because that Alonso/Smith first base duo is working right now.

Sorry if posted somewhere, but haven't seen a story for METS, updates for a few days on NJ.com. Also, they are not a select option in the sports menu. Anyone have any idea what happened?

Apparently the sports editor is a Yankees fan. NJ.com doesn't really do Mets coverage.

UNBEATABLE!

They won't lose a game in April!

(next thought withheld to protect the young Mets fans out there.. if there are any).

You the one without the answer. Goggle is your friend.
seriously.. you get off making stupid comments about people who just asked a question.... what is wrong with you....do you wait an pounce on people on internet boards to make your day feel good? Damn... just leave people alone and stop jumping to insults....

I feel sorry for you. Here ya go genius:

...hey scholastic genius .... my post was about why they are not a featured filter option on NJ.com... and there are no stories the past two days.. What a tool....as you link has 2 day old stories..... But you are incredible and I can't put one past you ..... you really got me.... Again... what is your beef?

Decisions by Editors are often difficult to discern. Or , I suppose , it could be a techno glitch. Write a note to the NJcom sports Editor . His name is Kevin Manahan. You will probably get a more accurate answer about a Mets coverage question on NJcom from him, then here on TKR.

...thank you

Seems to be a lot of Phillies/Eagles focus on the front page of NJ.com sports. Maybe the circulation #'s are better in South Jersey these days? Yanks have been more prominent. Perhaps its a home versus away game thing. Who knows.

I would sign Wheeler before the end of May,and my early feelings based on the last 2 years is Thor will never reach the levels his stuff should produce.I'm seeing him as either trade bait late in the season if the playoffs aren't in the picture, or in the off season for a couple high level players. Hope I'm wrong.Maybe they need to breakup deGrom and Thor, let Matz throw #2 To change the eye level for hitters in 3 or 4 game series. In fact for that reason I'd go,deGrom,Matz,Wheeler,if Vargus shows he's decent, then Thor. Call me nuts, but that's my thought process in a righty, lefty rotation. I just have a bad take on Syndergaard.

Speaking as a fantasy owner, McNeil should mix in five starts in left field before the Mets lock him in at 3B.

Lowrie is a good depth piece when he returns. I expect nothing from Cespedes at this point. Making a statement to start the year at the Nats. Health is the key. The Mets rotation looks deeper than their NL East rivals. The Phillies lineup is the most dangerous but good pitching often beats good hitting. I think the Braves management is trying to do things a little too on the cheap this year. They need upgrades in RF, C, a real #1 SP, and the pen walks too many guys.

And the Marlins... if they are not 5th, it will be a shocker.

It is going to be interesting when Lowrie gets healthy. He'll be at second when Cano gets the occasional day off and I'd guess third the rest of the time with McNeil in left. If McNeil and Alonso keep hitting I don't see much pt at all for Lagares or Broxton as long as Nimmo produces.

Thinking McNeil and Alonzo will be our Torres and Andujar. To think they almost traded either or both in the Cano trade.
Im sure the Mets will screw this up somehow... Maybe the Wilpons will force Frazier and/or Lowrie to start over the young guys because of their contracts.

But yes, McNeil should stay at third and I actuall like the Alonso/Smith Combo at first. This brings Alonso up to speed at a more confortable pace and give Smith an at bat or two a game while depending on his late inning defense.

I dont like the Braves. After living in Georgia for 12 years my allegiance will never switch from the Mets. But wasn't their RF Markakis one of their best players and an All-Star.

I actually love how the Mets are mixing in Alonzo/Smith. Keeping both young players active and happy.
Need to get Nimmo going but to be fair- very tough fist 2 pitchers.
Biggest question of the first two games in WTF was Ramos doing staying on the base paths the other day? It worked out but stupid.
MC better see right away that he has to keep this guy healthy. Running bases late in a game just isn’t smart.
