OT: 2022 NY Giants Season & Post Season Game Thread

I really wonder if the bottom is going to fall out for QB contracts.

Or say - the distinction between the elite and very good grows.

Burrow is going to get a huge contract and deserves it.
Mahomes got it.
Hurts and Herbert appear on the track but still haven't fully earned it probably.

But look at Kyler Murray's huge contract. Prescott, Watson.
Lamar and Jones upcoming.
Tannehill making big money.
Josh Allen hasn't been elite this year - especially in playoffs.

There does seem to be line between "Deep playoff, super bowl QB" and "very good, compete for playoffs".

I wonder if the 2nd group doesn't just get to automatically reset the QB market like prior QBs have.

Bottom falling out? You think Jones is going to sign a contract that's less than 30M per year?

Bottom falling out was a bad term.
Not necessarily Jones - doubtful he's going to reset the QB market regardless.
Although I don't think it's going to be as easy as some think.
Kyler signed for $46m/year ($198m guaranteed).
Jones has won a playoff game. Why isn't he going to want at least $40m/year?

But are the Ravens really going to give Lamar $45m/year for 6 years.

After finishing the last two years injured.

Probably not. But how much more then $30 is Jones going to get? Hopefully not too much more.
