OT: Age limit for Div-1 college athletes?

FGCU has a 23-year old junior transfer. Is there a cutoff age for Div-1 athletes? Born in Queens, lived in the Bronx, before moving to Florida. The student athlete is not a religious missionary or ex-military or a former professional baseball player in the minor leagues.

No age limit as long as you can play and have eligibility. The link i posted is the oldest example on record.

You see a few older veterans and what not walk into football and bball also.

You have 5 years to play your 4 years of eligibility. It is not tied to any age requirement.

Georgetown used to recruit form military guys after their tour was finished. so, no age is not an issues.

Anyway, to follow up my earlier sarcastic question, the answer is: Souf Mensah is 23 and enrolling at Rutgers this year as a JC transfer.

Flacco's brother transferred to RU FB, has to sit out 1year, will then have 2 years of eligibility and will be 25 for the last.

It's crazy how old some D-1 athletes are. I can at least understand the BYU guys and the rare case where someone played minor league baseball for a few years. Jeremy Hazell was like 26 when he finished up at the Hall.

When RU played Ball State in the International Bowl, they had a starter who was 33.

There is some exceptions based on the student athletes eligibility clock. One thing the NCAA did was to start the clock for International players when they graduate from high school or Prep School
