Sometime around 1986-88, my family was eating in a restaurant in Caesars in Atlantic City (I would have been like 10 or 11ish), when my mother says "Hey, is that Patrick Ewing?" (which I'm sure is the only name of a 7 foot black guy she knew at the time). So I look over my shoulder and it was actually Charles Barkley eating dinner with Robert Parrish. In hindsight, the Celtics were probably in Philly for a game earlier that afternoon. Anyways, I was too shy to go over to the table, but of course my mother goes running over there and says, "My son is your biggest fan (I was a Knicks fan who hated both Philly and Boston, but I digress), can I have your autographs?" They were both really nice and signed a menu.
This is all a huge preamble to me saying that those two men had more food stacked on their table than I've ever seen two people have on a table at one time (before or since). I doubt Barkley is eating at Subway, unless he's getting three or four footlongs at a time.
