I started in 1991 and it was $30 and you could sign up that morning in Battery Park. They didn' get 35k in those days. The cost and participation rose greatly in 2002, the first after 9/11.

I remember doing it one year a while back. It was cool riding on the roads they let us ride on but with classic new your traffic. Barely moving at times. Do they space it out any better or did they cut the max amount at any point.

Max is 35k which includes VIP charity groups and volunteers. Yes there are now staggred start times plus a change is route in Brooklyn have eased those issues.
