OT: Browns hit with bizarre scheduling quirk the NFL hasn't seen in 30 years, plus 10 other schedule oddities

Interesting.
Bill Simmons had Andrew Sharp on to discuss the schedule, oddities and betting ideas.

Another oddity: Colts have played 12 of their last 14 Sunday night/ Monday night games on the road.
Maybe it's all primetime games (Thursday too??).
Don't remember.

Let’s see how the Eagles finish since they don’t have to get on a plane after Week 10.

That's a pretty lazy Eagles point they make. A much better one IMO is the fact that they are the only team playing 4 games in 18 days (the fewest number of days possible to play 4 games in) -- meaning they play a Monday, a Sunday, a Sunday, and a Thursday. Those two games on short rest are against the two Super Bowl teams from last year. Then they follow that up with 5 road games in 7 weeks -- their schedule certainly isn't as easy as the "last year's record" SOS make it seem.

That Eagles point came up in the podcast as well - 4 games in 18 days and short rest against TB/KC.

They also throughly refuted "SOS based on last years record".
It's completely useless and has no correlation.

If anything, use Vegas projected wins for 2021 to judge SOS.

Bingo. Of course the SOS is weak when you use last year's records and look at how bad the NFC East records were last year.

I'm not even a fan of Sharp but the points he mentioned about the Colts and Eagles were interesting nonetheless.
