OT - Coastal Carolina cheerleading squad suspended over escort investigation

You can read the article but it sounds like a few cheerleaders went on the site seeking arrangements to find sugar daddy's. The school is close to Myrtle Beach so you may have a lot of wealthy golfers in town looking for this.

But ... it may also be a jealous co-student who didn't make the squad who has a beef and may be exaggerating what the girls have done.

I am not sure the avg student but per this site it is the 20th best college in the state

Coastal Carolina is the defending College World Series champions, which means they have more NCAA championships in the past season than Rutgers has in the past 30 years ... maybe we should have kept the name Chanticleers ...

Someone had to say it. I also wonder how fast the NCAA will come down on them, yet let UNC go on their merry way...
 
As an RU student many moons ago I used to go to all the football and basketball home games. At the season opening home game for basketball the new cheerleaders came out to begin their first cheers of the year. Oops...there was a problem...the PC/feminist community had gotten hold of the cheerleader selection committee somehow. You know where this is going. The cheerleaders looked like nothing anyone expected. They were the opposite of what most people envision as cheerleaders. The crown booed since it seemed even having a smidgen of good looks or an athletic body would have presented a problem in making the team. This was not going to stand. I was at once horrified at the selections while at the same time feeling really badly for the girls. I had never seen anything like it. Fast forward to game two and the crowd cheered the replacement cheerleaders who now showed up instead. So much for social re-engineering by the PC crowd. I think this is a "teachable moment".

UNC and Gonzaga generated 300 million in their NC game, Coastal Carolina on the other hand generated zero. Also, prostitution is a criminal offense.

They are college students and unless they are not 21 they aren't considered adults (legally). They are reps of their school and like most other schools they probably have an ethics/morals code to follow. My new goal on this board is to read every post you make -and if warranted- try to point out to you how stupid they are so keep em coming

They became legal adults at 18, just like everyone else in this country. Your post is therefore ironic.

When I was an undergrad, supposedly there was a group of female students who would go "Exec'ing". They'd head to a bar at a downtown hotel and each would find a guy on a business trip. She'd flirt with him so that he'd buy her drinks and dinner. After a few more rounds of drinks, when he'd suggest that they go back to his room, she'd slap his face and exclaim, "I'm not that kind of girl." The next week the girls would do this again for more drinks and dinner with different businessmen.

I didn't know any girls who actually did this (or admitted to doing this), so maybe this was just an urban legend. However the thought that girls from our college would do this horrified my male friends and me. We all vowed that when we graduated and went on business trips we would not buy drinks and dinner for strange girls until we found out if they were that kind of girl or not.

Escorting is an interesting term. Some think of it as the act of prostitution with sex while others just define it as a companion for a date with no sex.

Even if it is the latter where the girls are just companions if there is enough money offered they will succumb. It is tough for a 19 year old to turn down multiple hundreds of dollars in cash to do an act they may be willing to do for free after a night of partying.

10 or so years ago I was on a flight to Myrtle Beach heading down for a week of golf. Also on the flight on their way to cheer camp at CCU was the RU Dance Team. Doesn't have anything to do with story here, just jogged my memory.

More to the point, back then there was a site where you could hire women to "caddie" for you. I can't say I ever saw anyone obviously use it but it does sound like something similar. You get a lot of middle aged men away from home partying and someone is going to find a way to use it to make $$$.

Some golf outings have hole girl. They will give the outing participants beverages at each tee box. They will be dressed in nice tight summerwear because most participants are men.

Yeah, just what we'd need. Something else to complain about (elbows too pointy) to go along with wrong course, wrong day, wrong time, can't wear cargo shorts and t-shirt, beer and food selection sucks, too expensive, and on and on.

The reason it'll never happen is no one is crazy enough to deal with everyone here.
