Facing possible 10 years in jail for robbing a bank but the judge is expected to give him probation because it "wasn't a very good bank robbery."

Wow, what a shame. These kids are offered lots of opportunity on a silver platter only because they have some athletic ability. And while most take advantage and are thankful for the opportunity they're offered, there are just too many who squander it because they can't get it together.

Well, when I turned to my wife and asked if she remembered Herb Pope, she replied, "Yeah. What happened? Is he dead or in jail?"

She's right to have asked. As you said above, you hope that these kids take advantage of the opportunities afforded them, but some guys just don't seem to care. It's unfortunate but it's hard to feel sorry for this guy.
