Is playing for 5 years a big deal?? My daughters had 5 years in by age 12
Not a choke job playing the #1 seed at their house
The choke job wasn't about the overall result of the game. But since you guys can't grasp that I won't try to explain it to you anymore. And mentioning my time playing was a response to the usual, childish and tiresome attack used by the children on here to insult anyone who disagrees. For grown men some of you guys sure act immature. I see it on a daily basis here--aggressive, overly opinionated straight guys who complain that everyone bashes straight guys. Maybe that's a reason why.
You attacked the team after a ridiculously valiant effort and now you're backtracking. Who is the child here? Methinks...you.
BRG, "our woman athletes tend to choke in big games?" Have you noticed our men choke every week in most events? Come on now

We've all made posts where we realized we were wrong later on. You can double down on defending it, but it seems to me it would be best to just rethink the "choke" comment and move on.
IMO, it's basically an indefensible comment to make in the context in which it was made and would STILL be indefensible even if you could somehow convince people that it was logically correct.
The frustration is that we have never hardly ever finished anything I can remember in my 44 years. Clearly RU women's sports are head and toes above the men's for making runs and getting there. Another very great effort to get to the final. Congrats on that.

All that being said...The women making to the Championship game vs. cutting out early is a very nice job and should be proud of that. No choke there today. Not coming from 8th seed.

lol you guys always want your pissing matches and your chance to smash someone down on here--the aggression I mentioned earlie. They choked by letting Minnesota take momentum right after the tying goal and run right down field and take a shot on their goal. Someone should've slide tackled even fouled to keep that from happening. If you can't grasp that I can't help you.
You need to watch that play again. The ball rebounded out perfectly in line to the girl who took the shot. There was nobody there to "slide tackle" or "foul" her on that play. It was pure luck that she was there, pure luck that the ball bounced right out to her, and then she nailed a bullet into the corner of the net. There is nobody to blame, either, as the defenders were IN THE BOX, where they should have been, following the cross from the right side (IIRC) with a slew of Gophers in the area. That isn't "choking." Does it suck? Well, of course it does, but you're wrong, period, all you're doing is making it worse for yourself right now with ridiculous comments ('I played for 5 years...) and attempting to spin the blame our way.

Nuts don't sugar coat it They played well but got out hustled and played garbage defense 20 seconds after scoring at no time were they in control of the ball for that 20 seconds. They got caught up in scoring that they forgot they actually had to play for another 6 minutes. I'm not sure they would have won the game but giving up a goal seconds after you scored is bad
OMG a team didn't "control the ball" at ANY point in time over a whopping 20-seconds? WOW! Shocker! Okay just busting chops a bit there....
...Unfortunately, in soccer, this happens a lot. I watch a ton of games, from MLS to EPL to international play and cup play and you'd be shocked how often goals are scoring within a minute or so after another. I also don't believe we played poorly, either, as the D got back and into the box. Just a great play on The Gophers part, IMHO, along with the right amount of luck with the goal scored being in the right place, at the right time, and the ball falling perfectly for her to strike it as such.
R we officially out of the NCAA's? Also remember we were without Casey Murphy who (last year) SHUT OUT #1 Virginia and SCORED the WINNING if not several of the penalty kicks. Not so sure this is the end for the ladies but congrats to them on a great B1G tourney RUn including defeating former NCAA Champ??? Penn State (who I was told has 3-4 ladies gone playing on the US U-19 team like Casey) At least THEY have beaten Penn State this year...
0-2 in 1976 Final Four? maybe one of the better Final Fours in history with a great Indiana team.
