Hey everyone,

I hate doing this or posting this but at this point I feel like I don't have a choice. I hurt my foot very badly (probably broken) and have no insurance. I can't walk really which is so frustrating. I also have BPD and need counseling sessions in order to function because right now I'm just...not. I'm not trying to make a victim out of myself but it's very difficult. If anyone can donate anything to my GoFundMe, I'd be eternally grateful. Any excess funds will go towards counseling for BPD.

Thanks so much, and if you can't donate that's okay. I hate making a thing of this, I just don't have any other avenue for assistance.

Thanks again,

-Morgan

I wouldn't come here if it weren't. It's a last resort. Thank you so much. It's really appreciated. I've been a member here for 20 years I think.

I know you have . Recognize your handle.
My wife's a retired MSW. She said you should be reaching out to NAMI... National Asso. of Mental Illness if you haven't. 1-800-950-NAMI (6264)

I've never heard of them. I'll do that today. Thank you. I'm in a small town with very little resources.

Done. I hope you get the help you need. Glad to see you reached out to NAMI.

Thank you all so much. Your gratitude will not be forgotten.

I went to the doctor today (manage to go somewhere with a sliding scale.)

I went there with my Lumbar Spine MRI report. The problem is my lower back and it's shooting down, spasming into my feet, legs, etc. I'm going to need surgery. So not sure what I'm going to do right now, but, I'll try to make the best of it. He referred me to a pain management specialist who does a sliding scale in Dothan AL which isn't too far away, so hopefully that can help in the short-term. But long-term I'm going to need surgery as my lower spine is in really bad shape. At this point I wish my foot were broken.

If you are low to moderate income, Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) premiums are quite low. You need to get yourself health insurance.

About 25 years ago (I was 38), I had the same issues you described, caused by a ruptured (or bulging) disc in my lower lumbar (L4/5) spine. Had microdiscectomy surgery, where they made a 3-inch incision in my lower back and scraped away about 30% of the loose disc matter that was causing the problem.

The sciatic pain in my leg was dramatically relieved, and eventually went away, and the numbness in my foot disappeared over time as well. I played team sports into my mid-50s with no back issues. Having that operation was the best medical decision, after enduring excruciating pain for months in an attempt to avoid surgery.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. You got this.
