OT how disgusting is Baylor

The crazy thing is Baylor is the world's largest Baptist school and, until very recently - maybe the late 90's - guys and girls couldn't even slow dance together at any university functions or in any campus facility. So...you sell out to FINALLY get good in sports and begin letting every kid who barely graduated high school in, to propel your programs, and bamm! Beyond disgusting what they've been getting away with the last 10-15 years in Waco. They're entire athletic department should get the death penalty.

There are a lot of college football players that don't belong in college. There are also a lot of witch-hunts caused by things like "activists" on campus who tell girls sex on one drink is rape. Now Baylor might really be as bad as article says but after seeing Central Park 5 I just dont read about some cases with the idea I can know whats going on for real.

No doubt this happens at a lot of places - and there are witch-hunt situations out there - hence my comments about where they came from the past 2 decades. IMHO this was a lethal "mix" from the get-go when they decided to go "all in" as such. That being said there appears to be some really bad poopie going on down there and there has been plenty of other shady stuff going on there, as well, since the mid-90's or so.

Follow the money, they are making tons of money in that conference. Sad to say but when the money is flowing people tend to look the other way. Ex: State Penn

I have a buddy who goes there currently, and he had been saying stuff like this was prevalent before any of this information about the football team ever got out. Wasn't Briles and Starr the only people that lost their job over this? Unbelievable that virtually the rest of the coaching staff still have jobs there.

This all comes down to NCAA rules, guidelines, punishment and enforcement. All of the kids or should I say young adults committing these crimes were born innocent into terrible environments. Schools like LSU, Alabama, Florida, Baylor and yes Rutgers too, recruit these kids and exploit them for their athletic ability knowing full well they are a timebomb waiting to happen. Not blaming the victim here but I wish "mom & dads" would sit down with some of these young ladies and explain that alcohol and certain outfits combined with raging hormones can result in criminal behavior. Some of the outfits I see today really cross the line of decency.

You are 100% blaming the victims. Since you are a Penn State fan, this doesn't come to much of a shock.

Also not everyone who live in poor cities are somehow rape time bombs ready to be triggered by sexy outfits.

I will let others here decide how to take that comment.

And Briles is rumored to return somewhere to coach next year. How is that possible.

Dude... this is a twisted post. if I were to subscribe to what you say, wouldn't the better solution be to stop recruiting "time bombs" rather than teaching our daughters to wear sweat pants to avoid rape.

Interesting post . I don't dig blaming the victim argument. But I do think you shed light on the fact that big time college football recruits time bombs. Let's be honest most of these guys playing don't belong in college and certainly wouldn't get into that particular school if it weren't for their athletic prowess playing a violent game . So naturally you will have problems at points .

I understand 31trap's point.

No one wearing a sexy outfit deserves to get raped.

That said, I would never wear Eagles gear at MetLife.

I am a realist.

The NCAA will do nothing here. But what school did the NCAA come down on because the players spend money in the bookstore?

I'm not blaming the victim. I'm just saying be careful and sensible. During the Illinois game the three of us sat next to a group of young ladies who were wearing denim shorts that looked like a bikini bottom. One girl picked up her right leg over the seat in front of her and put on quite a show because there wasn't enough fabric to cover her private area. Finally the honey insisted on us moving to a different section, much to my disappointment. :))

Sure go ahead and wear whatever you want, it should not change the way you're treated.

What section do you sit in ?

Wow. SMH. There are no others words for crap like this.

If you were assaulted would you call the AD, football coach or the police?

If a coach hears something second hand and he is supposed to go to the police then what about the victim who has FIRST hand knowledge? What are the police supposed to do when a victim won't come forward? It is up to the victims to go to the police.

Wow.

I suggest you start monitoring your caffeine and/or sugar intake...

Here's the thing, youre assuming these women were dressed provocatively. What are you basing this assumption on?

I am making no assumption. I am saying I understand trap's point about sexy outfits and hormones.

It's his assumption critical to his argument as he applies it to the Baylor incident.

WOW! Are there fields where they hatch you people from pods out there in Pennsylvania?

But you understand my point, right? I'm making an assumption that all of these women were not wearing short skirts and spaghetti strap tops yet they were raped anyway. So with that said, it's kind of BS to imply some form of responsibility to the victim.

These guys are pieces of shit. They should be locked up or worse. Plenty of people rise from difficult backgrounds and avoid raping and pillaging there way through college even with attractive coeds walking around.

Arizona: Stupid gonna stupid, but there are definitely things folks can do to minimize risk.

There's a reason you lock your car.

Honest question, do you have a daughter in college? That's kind of rhetorical but in any case, I do. So therefore I have a very good idea of the lengths that these young ladies go through in order to avoid being assaulted. They try not to walk anywhere alone, especially at night. Many carry some form of personal safety device like mace. There are applications for their phones that they can tie together with other friends to notify them where they are. They follow only certain very well lit paths to and from whatever places they are going and often notify friends when they leave. But one thing they don't do is dress like granola chicks from the 90's for social gatherings.

If you can't appreciate a young woman without raping her then you should not be walking amongst the rest of us.

Arizona: I have a newborn and a 4 year old -- both boys.

I don't disagree with anything you said.

Again, all I'm saying is that I understand trap's main point that if you dress sexy, you're gonna get additional attention (kind of the point -- right?). The additional attention includes both good and bad people.

That's all I'm saying.

It doesn't justify rape any more than leaving a car unlocked justifies it getting stolen.

PS: I had to look up your granola chick reference -- I actually laughed out loud.

So if I'm a guy who was born in a "terrible environment," but happen to play college football, it's okay for me to gang-rape a co-ed because she's dressed slutty (I'm quoting the moron above whom you seem to agree with here...)? You might want to take a walk through the Rutgers student section during a Saturday in September and take into account how many of these co-ed's dress in next-to-nothing these days then re-think that position. Aligning yourself with the aforementioned "moron above" isn't going to help your point of view here my friend.

NUTS: Nothing justifies rape or sexual assault.

Nothing.

I'm just saying if you dress provocatively, you're gonna get attention -- good and bad.

I'm not sure what we're disagreeing with..?

Maybe we're all misunderstanding your posts. It seems as if you were supporting 31trap's POV which, in a word, is disgusting bullshit (okay, that's 2 words...). That being said, again, you might want to take a look around: young girls don't wear much clothing these days (whether their families believe it, or know about it, or not...). The "attention," so-to-speak, is everywhere.
