OT: James Dolan has CV

Sad but true. IIRC, most of the 2014 games were ultra close, but the puck finally got past HL at the end of the day.

Yeah three of the Kings' wins were in overtime. In both 2012 and 2014, the Kings won the first two games in overtime, then Game 3 via shutout, and then lost Game 4 only scoring one goal. In Game 5, the Rangers lost in overtime but the Devils won to make the series close. Game 6 was a total disaster from the beginning though with Bernier's major penalty that the Devils then gave up three goals on.

I remember in 2012 Games 1 and 2 easily could have gone the other way with Fayne shanking on an open net in overtime in Game 1 and Kovalchuk hitting the post with about 15 seconds left in regulation in Game 2. If those two shots go in, it's a much different series.

yeah sounds great guy is worth over 4 billion and just bought a $50 million townhouse in NYC so I don't think this is too much skin off of his back

Not a fan of the NBA at all and have not been following the NHL as much as I used to, but how does Dolan have two of the worst franchises in sports for years? Between TV money, big crowds, and Madison Square Garden, what does he do with that money ? Does he just continually sign terrible players,coaches, and GMs , one after another? How long has he owned both teams?

NYR don't win cups, but they are hardly the worst franchise in sports for years. Not even the worst in the NHL. They have not finished the top 5 worst in the league in almost 60 years.

No clue about the Knicks. From afar, it seems they have been a disaster since Ewing left.

But the problem is the rags are always rebuilding. They have been rebuilding for that cup parade in your canyon of hero's since 1994. The great one, Lindros and plenty of others before and after them could not deliver the goods why would these two be able to? Keep dreaming about seeing another cup in your life time because that is the only way you will be able to see your rags lift the cup over their heads. Enjoy your Sunday.

Actually, the Rangers have never tried to rebuild. They always went for it, like the Redskins. Signed has beens like Driver, LaFleur, just a parade of washed up guys, etc. This is the first time they have consciously built through the draft and now they are loaded with young talent with one more wave of young studs coming up. They have a very nice base and Panarin is a top 10 player. The goalie is probably better than top 10.

The salary cap was the best thing to happen to them. Look how many guys they had in 05-06 that you never heard of, and they finally made the playoffs for the first time in 9 years.

Rangers are the least successful out of the Original 6 teams

They have only won 1 Stanley Cup since 1941
