OT: Miami DC Manny Diaz to Temple????

Just because he's being considered for Temple doesn't mean he's a fit for us and should have been hired instead of Ash. His experience in Miami is what put him in the position he's in today.

There goes Florida recruiting. It’s ok guys, as long as temple doesn’t hire any coaches from the Swedish national team, we’re golden
we still have sweden and Germany!
Local other programs showing they will do anything needed to improve but Hobbs and Barchi dont care so RU will just remain the doormat program.

Have we ever hired a Miami DC that worked out for us?
Yes, that guy was from Jersey, who is Italian (not hispanic). Two different people. Should we assume every coach that coached at the same school will have same results?

Temple already had 2 Swedish OL on the roster and a 3rd coming in. Rutgers can have Germany though!

This is great. He will get experience at Temple and we can hire him as our HC in 2 years.

If the choice was between Manny and Chris: how many RU fans would have used this against Diaz in support of hiring Ash ?
>In 2012, Diaz guided the Texas Longhorns to the worst defense school history.

On September 7, 2013, the Longhorns' defense, under Diaz, gave up a school record 550 yards rushing to Brigham Young University, including 257 to quarterback Taysom Hill. The following day, Mack Brown described the defensive performance as "unacceptable" and relieved Diaz of his duties as defensive coordinator.<

No, no, no. He's a future coach of the year, just like EVERYONE else mentioned for ANY coaching position opening up at ANY school other than Rutgers.

There is some sentiment that Manny isn't good enough for Miami DC.

So this would be one way for him to leave honorably.

If Temple hires this guy we will never get another recruit again

Point taken, but there’s nothing wrong with Chris Ash the DC. He’s a solid DC as illustrated this year. He’s just not HC material.

Just proves,no one knows who will become a good HC from what his assistant resume shows and even mid major HCs moving into P-5 HC positions are a gamble the school is making.

Manny might be a good one or could crash and burn.
His DC resume isn't spotless, but becoming a Broyles award nominee in 2016 and leading the Hurricanes to a #2 Total Defense rating helps make his Texas time easy to overlook.

He had a Got Run Over chain instead of a Turnover Chain at Texas.

He would work out great here at RU...we are just a factory for turning Defensive Coordinator's into Head Coaches...and make our fans Head Cases

Great, now we have to watch the Turnover Hubcap.

Maybe Gary takes Diaz's job at Miami, and becomes HC in waiting. And waiting, and waiting. lol
