OT: More stay at home music videos.....

On May 28, John Fogerty will turn 75. Any remembrances from his family performance vs. Creedence Clearwater Revival's great album "Cosmo's Factory" ? Well, you judge.

Only The Lonely by The Motels

We walked the loneliest mile
We smiled without any style
We kiss altogether wrong
No intention

We lied about each other's drinks
We lived without each other thinking
What anyone would do
Without me and you

It's like I told you
Only the lonely can play

So hold on, here we go
Hold on to nothin' we know
I feel so lonely way up here

We mention the time we were together
So long ago, well I don't remember
All I know is that it makes me feel good now

It's like I told you
Only the lonely can play
Only the lonely can play

Only the lonely can play
It's like I told you
Only the lonely can play
Only the lonely can play

Lots of good players on Youtube

Unfortunately a lot of them are covering the same stuff over and over over

I LOVE this song and must sing along every time I hear it...

I also like their other big hit "Suddenly Last Summer." These days the song reminds me of the Jersey Shore after Superstorm Sandy hit in 2012.

Suddenly Last Summer by The Motels

It happened one summer
It happened one time
It happened forever
For a short time
A place for a moment
An end to a dream
Forever I loved you
Forever it seemed

One summer never ends
One summer never began
It keeps me standing still
It takes all my will
And then suddenly
Last summer

Sometimes I never leave
But sometimes I would
Sometimes I stay too long
Sometimes I would
Sometimes it frightens me
Sometimes it would
Sometimes I'm all alone
And wish that I could

One summer never ends
One summer never begins
It keeps me standing still
It takes all my will
And then suddenly
Last summer
And then suddenly
Last summer

One summer never ends
One summer never begins
It keeps me standing still
It takes all my will
And then suddenly
Last summer
And then suddenly
Last summer
Until suddenly
Last Summer

And then suddenly
Last summer
Until suddenly
Last Summer

wouldn't covers of obscure, unknown stuff kind of defeat the purpose?

Why? If someone can play well they should be able to move past the same old practice songs they've been doing for years. At this point, I don't like most electric guitar covers at all because they are worn out. I say "electric" because electric players are the most guilty. Many are stuck in a rut playing the same 50-30 yr old bits and its a reason electric has been on the ropes the last years. Hendrix is supposed to be #1 but nobody even listens to him anymore (it was junkie music really). Gary Clark plays a mean "Hey Jude" but its still a worn out song from before the moon landing. If I never hear it again I'll be glad. Thankfully players like Tash Sultana are bringing some life back
