Not exactly a top tier Thursday night
I think Texas St. ASU maybe has some potential but it's on ESPN+.....GJ Kinne has done a nice job at Texas St in his year plus there and seems like Dillingham has got ASU going in year 2.

Edit: its on ESPN..NCAA website was wrong

Wisconsin v. Bama could get Saturday off to an interesting start.

Wisconsin hasn't looked too impressive this first couple weeks. It is at home though and Alabama took awfully long to get started against USF. I still think Alabama should handle them but we'll see. Good win for Wisconsin if they can pull it off.

I'm wondering if the Pacific NW might offer some fun matches with the Apple Cup and Civil War, all teams undefeated early on. Oregon hasn't looked that impressive through 2 weeks. WSU played pretty well last week against TT. Too bad Apple Cup is on Peacock only.

Correction to this post and the original post...NCAA website I copy paste from had it wrong. ASU/Texas St game is on ESPN not ESPN+...which makes more sense.

I give ASU credit for playing TSU, as there's literally no upside for this
Win and nobody cares, lose and it's a big deal

I'm sure they're doing it to help recruiting in Texas and appeal to their big $$ boosters there, but it's a risky proposition

Posters in the other thread have me intrigued by the ASU-Texas State game now, so I'm going watch some of it. Still haven't broke down for Prime. If I get anything at this point, it will likely be Peacock.

Kinne going for it 4th and 2 on their side of the 50. ASU moved it well other first drive, seems like a risky call. ASU defense been getting good pressure on them too.

They converted it

Well the Texas St 4th down gamble paid off…15 play methodical drive down the field…7-7

I didn’t see last week’s game against Miss St and despite the TD they just gave up, ASU’s defense seems more physical than I can remember.

I love some of these screens by Texas St

Whew got lucky there on the fumble recovery on the next play.

Another nice long drive with a bunch of critical 3rd down conversions again. 15 plays 64yds for a TD. 14-7 Texas St

Another beautiful drive for a TD. McCloud looks really good throwing the ball. 21-7 Texas St

Btw Kinne took a ton of transfers last year, like as many as Deion did. Think they had a bunch this year too but not nearly as many.

ASU strikes back, 4 plays 75yds…big conversion on the drive too. 21-14 Texas St

Good chance for ASU to get the ball back and get closer or tie the game before half

I like that screen call by ASU to start the drive.

A lot of good on the money throws by both qbs in this game

ASU ties it up just before half. Thought this game could be a shootout and so far looks like it. 21-21

44yd TD for Texas St…first drive this half that had some rhythm. ASU had missed a 51yd FG on the prior possession.

28-21 Texas St

Now ASU offense wakes up 28-28

Another gutsy call which I wouldn’t have made. Kinne goes for it on 4th and 2 from his own 39 and gets 26yds. Hobart with a nice leap too for some extra yards.

Texas St giving Arizona St a real battle. On fourth down and 2 from their own 40 they go for it . QB hits wide receiver who turns it into a 25 yard gain by doing the Leonard Leap.

If they call this targeting on Texas St after not calling the last call targeting on ASU that’s such bias. This should be and the last one should’ve been. I’m guessing these are B12 refs.

Fumble by Texas St deep in their own end, it was a nice run..too bad.

If they can hold them to a FG, that would be a win.

Elsewhere, to channel the spirit of Warner Wolf, "If you had Northwestern State and 76 points, YOU LOST!"

South Alabama 87 - Northwestern State 10. It was 80-10 after three quarters, so they did let up I guess.

Oh well INT Texas St…that might be it. Turning it over twice late is probably too much.

Texas St defense comes up big and makes them go 3 and out so they still have a shot.

56yd punt puts Texas St back around their 15..3:35 left

ASU seals it 31-28

I forgot Kansas moved their home games because of construction.

Think UNLV can give them a game if not win outright. 500yds last week rushing, lousy competition but nonetheless. Odom and Marrion have done a solid job there.

Crazy (in a cool way) that a state as small population wise like Kansas has both of their P5 teams playing on the same night

I can imagine kids at school, one wearing a JayHawks jersey and Other wearing a wildcat jersey, all excited talking about how they were going to their respective teams home games tonight, simultaneously talking, smack to each other about the state of the respective programs

Daniels 3 TDs 4 INTs on the season and that was the problem last week for Kansas.

Nice opening drive for the TD by Kansas. 12 plays 81yds. 7-0

Another nice TD run for Daniels…14-3 Kansas

Kansas holds them again to a FG…14-6

Arizona coming out with a nice opening drive…14 plays 7-0

Kansas holds them again to a FGA which they miss…still 17-6
