They lasted longer then what ever team you root for.Much sooner than many expected…
The Yankees won the American League pennant. And finished second to what looked like a better team in the Dodgers. They lasted longer then what ever team you root for.
Priority List:Much sooner than many expected…
If they get out bid for Soto after signing all these dead weight FAs of late Hal should sell the team.Let Gleyber walk and slide Jazz over
Dominguez to center and Judge back to RF
Try for Soto but get outbid
Let Rizzo walk
Seek FA at 1B and 3B and LF. Hopefully get 2 positions filled and use DJ / AAA to hold open spot until trade deadline
Revamp bullpen
Sign Soto and try to defer are much of the money as possible (like with Ohtani and LA).Yanks are screwed and will have to pay Soto whatever he wants if they want a shot at playoffs. Lots of aging stars and nobody ready to step in. Hoping the Martian gets his shot and is the real deal.
Sounding like a true politician. Kicking the can down the road.Sign Soto and try to defer are much of the money as possible (like with Ohtani and LA).
The Yankee fan base is so disgusted right now I think the Yankees will have to break every spending record, defer money wherever possible, pay whatever luxury tax, etc. to show the fans and current players that we are coming back for another WS shot. This WS has done a lot of damage to the Yankee brand - they look like a f’in joke. You know how many little league coaches are gonna use the Rizzo/Cole/Judge/Volpe fiascos as examples when teaching fundamentals! Not good for impressionable young fans. LA will be used as the example of a team that focused on doing all the little things right.Sounding like a true politician. Kicking the can down the road.
Damn straight, screw the kids! I want satisfaction now. Lots of players and officials need the boot. This WS appearance was mostly luck. The AL was complete garbage this year and we only had to get through 2 AL Central losers. Lose Soto and run it back with most of the same crew, we will struggle to be over .500.Sounding like a true politician. Kicking the can down the road.
I'm not saying that they shouldn't bust through the highest luxury tax level. I don't care about the money impact. However, there's a draft penalty for exceeding the highest threshold and I don't want the future impacted because of a strong overreaction. The Yankee fan base is so disgusted right now I think the Yankees will have to break every spending record, defer money wherever possible, pay whatever luxury tax, etc. to show the fans and current players that we are coming back for another WS shot. You haven't been paying attention. The Steinbrenner family only cares about money. They were happy the Yankees didn't get swept because it gave one more home game$$The Yankee fan base is so disgusted right now I think the Yankees will have to break every spending record, defer money wherever possible, pay whatever luxury tax, etc. to show the fans and current players that we are coming back for another WS shot. That WS debacle could end up costing the Yankees hundreds of millions (may be more) in brand value as it is the BIGGEST embarrassment in the modern baseball era. Fan loyalty is almost nonexistent these days - especially the newer generations. The Yankees are the laughing stock of baseball. Brand is everything - look at what a few Superbowls in the 90s did for the Cowboys = I still have moron buddies that have been lifelong bandwagon Cowboy fans thanks to Aikman and Emmitt. Yanks haven’t won squat in 15 years and they finally get their shot and COMPLETELY blow it in epic fashion. Mark my words - in 5 years the LA Dodgers will be the most valuable baseball franchise especially if they win another WS and Yanks do nothing. These young kids barely know who Mantle, Maris, Ruth, Jackson, etc. are.You haven't been paying attention. The Steinbrenner family only cares about money. I don't see them getting Soto.
Soto isn't the answer because too much more is needed. If they sign Soto then they won't improve the many other problems with the team. That WS debacle could end up costing the Yankees hundreds of millions (may be more) in brand value as it is the BIGGEST embarrassment in the modern baseball era. You clearly don’t know much about the younger generations. No sense of loyalty = jump from job to job and sports team to team based on what’s “hot” or the second they don’t like something. This WS is a major black-eye for the Yankees as the blunders have been posted and replayed hundreds of millions of times on social media.Soto isn't the answer because too much more is needed. If they sign Soto then they won't improve the many other problems with the team.
And no they aren't losing 100s of millions in brand value. In the 15 years of no WS appearance the value of the team has exploded. They still get huge attendance numbers, better than last year and the year before that, and the year before that.... without going to the WS. YES Network paying serious $$. Don't worry, the sky isn't falling.
Who do you think is going to Yankees games? Kids!! Major black eye? Dude calm down! You clearly don’t know much about the younger generations. So what team are the younger generation following? Baseball has had a dynasty since the Jeter lead Yankees so there is no KC Chiefs of baseball for front runner fans to turn to.You clearly don’t know much about the younger generations. Oh really?! Kids/parents paid the hundreds and thousands of dollars for WS tickets? Did you look at the crowd? Honestly you may be the most clueless guy on this board. LOL - yeah sure “Kids!” packed Yankee stadium…Who do you think is going to Yankees games? Kids!! Major black eye? Dude calm down!
I’ve seen more LA hats in NJ in the past two days than I’ve seen in the past 10 years. But obviously I’m more sensitive to it and Ohtani also had a huge effect even before WS win. Although not suggesting LA is the end all be all.So what team are the younger generation following? Baseball has had a dynasty since the Jeter lead Yankees so there is no KC Chiefs of baseball for front runner fans to turn to.
I'm talking about the 3.3 million for the regular season dope! Beat last year attendance. Yet you say it's going to hurt attendance. Wrong! Your sky is falling nonsense is just that, complete nonsense!Oh really?! Kids/parents paid the hundreds and thousands of dollars for WS tickets? Did you look at the crowd? BTW, KC is a great example. Pre-SB and Mahomes NOBODY cared about them. Now look at any high school in sports team day and it’s crazy how many kids are wearing KC jerseys. So what team are the younger generation following? Baseball has had a dynasty since the Jeter lead Yankees so there is no KC Chiefs of baseball for front runner fans to turn to.
WhiteBus = ShortBus. I never said attendance would fall! As it is Yankee stadium only holds 46K so demand will always be there no matter what they do plus corporate America probably owns most of those seats. It’s going to be a brand issue unless the Yanks course correct. You think it’s good or bad for LA that whenever you type LA or Dodgers into Google the entire screen has a celebration/digital fireworks?I'm talking about the 3.3 million for the regular season dope! Beat last year attendance. Yet you say it's going to hurt attendance. Wrong! Your sky is falling nonsense is just that, complete nonsense!
WTF does that have to do with the future? Those stats are pre-WS disaster.I'm talking about the 3.3 million for the regular season dope! Beat last year attendance. Yet you say it's going to hurt attendance. Wrong! Your sky is falling nonsense is just that, complete nonsense!
And after a season they didn't make the playoffs! Still big crowds. Brand value in dollars is based off income. When people stop going or stop watching then you will be right but right now you are seeing something that doesn't exist. The sky isn't falling anytime soon despite your false fears!WTF does that have to do with the future? Those stats are pre-WS disaster.
I never said it would happen overnight. This all started when I said the Yanks will have to cover up this WS disaster by spending big next year. And after a season they didn't make the playoffs! Ohtani deal was 10 years 460 mil in "real money".Sign Soto and try to defer are much of the money as possible (like with Ohtani and LA).
This might be the most ridiculous exaggeration this board has ever produced. That WS debacle could end up costing the Yankees hundreds of millions (may be more) in brand value as it is the BIGGEST embarrassment in the modern baseball era. Over the course of a few years, for a franchise worth $8B, you think hundreds of millions is ridiculous? The better argument is that even if I’m right it’s basically a rounding error. In the age of social media swirl those 5th inning blunders have been viewed round the world. My wife, who hates baseball and has probably never seen a game was asking me all about it the next morning. This might be the most ridiculous exaggeration this board has ever produced.
Hundreds of millions - from one inning, lmao.
