Do we have a good idea of who is coming north with the team this year? Outside ofOpening Day Starter will be Clay Holmes.
Depends on the injuries but will be most of these names. Blackburn, Canning, Minter, Garrett, Butto, Nunez, Kranick has impressed etc. Acuna, Baty, Walton. 2 of 3. Backup C Reetz or Senger I suppose unless Nido shakes loose.Do we have a good idea of who is coming north with the team this year? Outside of

His numbers will end up being good to solid but he can’t start like he did last seasonQuietly noticing that Lindor isn’t hitting. Hopefully the switch flips come the end of March.
Spring training stats mean nothing for established players.Quietly noticing that Lindor isn’t hitting. Hopefully the switch flips come the end of March.
Phew. And here I was somewhat mildly concerned. Thank god that’s over.Spring training stats mean nothing for established players.
That lineup potentially gets weak as you move to the bottom half.
Was at last night's game, and Baty looked fine at second base, but he really wasn't challenged. Another thing you notice is that he's a big guy.
The difference is that as much as I am not a fan of Siri- the power potential at his spot makes him interesting. Marte/Winker also make for a very solid potential. The only sure weak hitter is Torrens. That lineup potentially gets weak as you move to the bottom half.

If history is prologue, I expect that most on here will tire of Siri and his power. While he can launch a ball, his power and contact is so limited that his career OPS is well below .700 and just .621 last year, he strikes out an absolute ton, and he rarely walks. It'll be a matter of time before the complaints start to roll in. That said, he has the potential to play incredible D.The difference is that as much as I am not a fan of Siri- the power potential at his spot makes him interesting. But for example Marte Baty Torrens Siri can compare favorably to most 6-9 hitters. The 1-5 is big time though
I don’t disagree but a guy like Siri is still interesting over 80% of 9th place hitters. I don’t like him myself but it adds something different. If history is prologue, I expect that most on here will tire of Siri and his power. Its a similar story with Torrens, who's been around a while, has a career OPS below .650, a lifetime BA below .230, and not much power. Let's hope that he plays good D and Francisco comes back on schedule.
Baty, we'll see. He needs to finally hit and hasn't yet.
And Marte--you know, maybe. But he's only getting older and more fragile.
There's a lot that can go wrong with this 44% of the lineup.
But it's spring. So I'm hoping that Baty hits his stride, Marte has a resurgence, and McNeil comes back swatting like he has for a significant portion of his career.
Regardless, I'll be in the stadium watching again on Saturday afternoon.
This is probably true, but there's a weakness to this. We are not looking to be better than most teams. That won't do it. A team with a .520 winning percentage is better than most teams. We want to compete for a championship. And if we do that, we'll need to be better than all or almost all teams in multiple areas.. . . .
If you look at most teams- the 6-9 guys are not much better.
. . .
I get what you are saying but that is also being very isolated. This is probably true, but there's a weakness to this. We are not looking to be better than most teams. That won't do it. Again- break down this half lineup against most other teams. And then add in the top 5 and it is one of the best lineups in baseball.Somewhat isolated, I guess. But it is almost half the lineup.
In the shade the whole game.Nice !!
When he was needed after Nats took the lead he came thru.Quietly noticing that Lindor isn’t hitting. Hopefully the switch flips come the end of March.
Until he ran out of gas I thought he looked good. Crowd agreed when he came out.
Lindor is at .170. I hope that doesn’t turn out to be the prelude to another slow start. When he was needed after Nats took the lead he came thru.

Ha. Who can forget his collision with Don Hahn. Yikes !George "the Stork" Theodore. He was not on steroids. 😁

This has to be the least amount of star power for a starting rotation that has a chance at a championship in baseball. The Mets need a stud starter in the worst way. And yes, even counting injured players.
