NL underdogs did well today:Giants,Pirates,Reds,Phillies,Diamondbacks and Padres.Perhaps it'll work interleague as well.
Is this news, or just your wish?Lugo to the Astros, he might be what Astros need in bullpen.
Only if we get the dwarf Altuvo in return and the Mets deal Reyes with Lugo.Joking, but he would be perfect for them.
Can the Mets ship Reyes now? Easy double play ball. Does not step on the base, throws it wide. Instead of 3 outs and inning over, now 1 out with 2 on.Only if we get the dwarf Altuvo in return and the Mets deal Reyes with Lugo.
Yeah that would have been interesting. Looks like Callaway wanted a lefty to pitch to Gregorius. So his choices were Blevins and Vargas. I know you are a Blevins fan, so I understand your incredulity. Fortunately, Sanchez' shot found leather and Bird showed Little League baserunning skills, making the point moot.Vargas looming in the bullpen. Nobody else in the pen?
Even if the Mets decide to blow it up, I think Lugo is the type of guy you keep, because I don't think he has a sufficient body of work to be all that attractive to a contender. If I were to trade Lugo, I'd want to bring back a high level, MLB-ready position prospect, and another high-level prospect who's maybe a little further away from being ready. I don't think I'd get that.Lugo to the Astros, he might be what Astros need in bullpen.
Moves makes sense. When you have exactly two MLB-ready prospects in your organization, and they play the same position, you can't have an underperforming veteran in the way. Would that there were similar pressure on all the other underperforming veterans on the team.Gonzalez and Lobaton gone. Smith and uggh Kelly up. Reyes lives another day somehow even though he tried to singlehandedly cost them the game last night.
When you post something like this, can you be clear and post a link? Someone above posted "Lugo to the Astros" when that was not case. Mets fans are in a tizzy, but all the this thread is getting hard to follow and decipher someone's trade wish list from actual trades.Gonzalez and Lobaton gone. Smith and uggh Kelly up. Reyes lives another day somehow even though he tried to singlehandedly cost them the game last night.
I don't know when the trade windows/deadlines are. No worries. Just can't keep track of all of the real and suggested moves. BTW, I agree with @Doctor Worm , I would not deal Lugo. He's a keeper.I wrote he would be perfect for Astros, and there aren't any trades now anyway.
I agree with you on Lugo and Kelly.Moves makes sense. Why the Kelly hate? He can play any position and thus is a serviceable 25th man. Yeah I know he's not very good, but who on the Mets is?

Disaster ? He is prob better than smithThe Gonzalez move never made sense in the first place and not surprisingly it was a disaster. Smith should have been the opening day 1B the whole time.
Kelly hate because I don't know he sucks? Call up McNeil and see what you have there since he's already 26.
Disaster ? He is prob better than smith
How so ? Smith can’t field Gonzalez can and smith is only hitting 260 in a band box in triple a with fewer homers than Gonzalez and Smith’s mlb batting average is under 200Alonso should really be the one up but Smith is better than Gonzalez at this point in their careers so yes disaster.

Agree.Smith was still the better option coming into the year. All reports have Smith as a good to above average defensive 1B so don't give me that. As for his bat you gamble on that more than a 35 year old past his prime.
Look at Nimmo. They don't even realize what they have on their own farm and instead keep going with washed up retreads like Gonzalez, Reyes, Bautista, etc. Unfortunately we're locked into Bruce deal but you can even have him at 1B with Cespedes, Conforto, Nimmo, Lagares to begin the year. How can you even defend the Gonzalez move with how bad he looked?
Agree.
1. Move Bruce to 1B permanently. He is having a bad year in the outfield. Have seen several plays-weak throws to home, not calling off an infielder running into outfield and letting a guy tag from 3rd, missing fly balls, etc.
2. Keep Nimmo as an every day player. Conforto, Cespedes, and Nimmo in OF. Lagares is meh.
3. That frees up another position player--Mets can keep Reyes on the team!!! What a beauty of a play last night where he did not step on 2B and he threw it away a first. What should have been a routine double play and out of the inning wound up 2 on with one out.
I'd rather find a guy who can hit, as opposed to keeping Bruce in the lineup.
Cause you need to evaluate your young players. Unless you think he hit his ceiling as a 21-22 year old?Disaster ? He is prob better than smithThe Gonzalez move never made sense in the first place and not surprisingly it was a disaster. Smith should have been the opening day 1B the whole time.

You do know this is the Mets?I'd rather find a guy who can hit, as opposed to keeping Bruce in the lineup.
