OT: OFFICIAL - Make Fun of the Mets/Yanks Thread - 2018 Season

Ive always wondered why Yankees fans who are so amazing best franchise ever always care about the Mets?
I wouldn't characterize it as "caring about the Mets". It's just that during the inevitable back-and-forth between fans of the two teams that call the metro area home there are gonna be lots of times when the Mets are not doing so good. And, of course, some of their fans will have as their default position "Why do Yankee fans care about the Mets ?"
I'm actually one of the few Yankees fans that actually does care about the Mets. I've heard enough from their jealous fans since 1962. I root for them to lose every game they ever play. That generally means that I have way more good days than bad.

We're not jealous.

Just assholes
Not all of them. I have a number of friends who are Mets fans. It's just hard to talk a lot of baseball with then as their season ends so early most years.
And yes...they wish their team was run like the Yankees.

Don't know jack? Did you even read what you linked. In both your links the Yankees are not the favorite to get to the World Series which supports my point not yours. I drive the short bus. I have a seat reserved for you. Especially today with all your incredibly dumb posts!
OK, I think I finally got it right this time. The EPIC FAIL is coming as current Vegas odds have the Yankees as the favorite to win the WS. Are you going to go to Monmouth Park Yankee fans and lay some money on the 5-1 favorites?https://www.thespread.com/odds-managermlb-baseball-futures

We're not jealous.
Mets fans are jealous of everyone - the Yanks for being the varsity team in NY, the Braves for years of domination, the Nationals for signing Murphy and winning the past few seasons, and now the Phillies for becoming the young up and coming team the Mets longed to be for years.

Phillies have also won a championship more recently than the Mets, as have the Marlins.

The Mets franchise is over 50 years old. They won in 1969 by just dumb luck. The 1986 team was excellent, but they squandered a possible dynasty via coke and a few stupid management decisions.

So you're like a stopped clock? Accurate 2 minutes out of 1440 everyday. Sounds about right.
From a Yankee fan standpoint 5/1 are pretty good odds. From a gamblers standpoint Houston is a much better bet. 5.5/1 and much better playoff pitching in all of MLB.

A bunch of yankees fans falling over themselves to make fun of the Mets and we're the assholes. Yeah ok...
Oh sure. Mets fans have backed off now. They're in 4th place in their division. The Dark Knight is in Cincinnati. Cespedes is on the DL. Things don't look so good for the Amazins.
And the Yankees have the best record in baseball.
So now it's time for "What do you care about the Mets?" or "Worry about your own team." All the crap from when the Mets started the season so well is gone now.
Sorry, but you know what I call someone who can dish it out but can't take it ? Asshole.

Well personally speaking I never talked smack about the yanks. Second im sure not one yanks fan made any post during the 11-1 streak. I'd love to actually talk about both teams but the smack talk is so boring and it's mostly from yanks fans like you.

Any realistic Yankees fan knows that, despite taking 3 of 4 from the Astros in Houston a while back and having the best record in baseball, the Yanks face a formidable task in even getting to the World Series. Boston is tough. And any team that has Dallas Keuchel as its 4th best starter is gonna be hard to beat in a series.
But the race should be fun. And having one of the best and one of the youngest teams in baseball is pretty good stuff for fans of the Bronx Bombers.
The Mets should just hope that the Marlins don't get hot.

Yanks in Vegas are the favorite to win the World Series. That's a joke not knowing if or what starting pitching might be acquired. Currently Yanks are no better than 3rd in the AL.

Third in the AL beats 4th in the NL East though. I agree with earlier posts, tough road to World Series with playing either Houston or the Sawx, but you have to play whoever they put in front of you. Besides, it's mid May, none of this matters.

Well, it's time to use that tired old line Yankee fans have been selling for so many years. At this early point in the season, the NL Central is clearly the best division in baseball, with a pretty solid argument to be made that the NL East is #2. The AL East, you could make a pretty good debate that it is #4 or #5.

AL East has the 2 best teams in baseball, it's the best division.

And the Red Sox choked that series. As did Houston.

So should we analyze every WS win any team has ever won? I'm sure an argument can be made for most except for the ones that were sweeps? Lets start with the ones that were won by teams that "enhanced" their chances, lol.

My favorite is still the 2000 World Series.

Canseco probably. HGH for the others. If you honestly think the Mets were clean, you are in denial. All of baseball going back to the 80’s was dirty. And still is based on Cano.
Show me where I said the Mets were clean? I just said that the Yankees had a hell of a lot of players who got caught.

My reference to the Mets was based on you being a Mets fan. I never implied you said the Mets were clean. That being said, based on your post it appears you believe the Mets were users as well. As was the rest of baseball. The teams that win get the spotlight. The Yankees are an easy target. I still want to see all the names on that list. I saw kids doing steroids in the HS locker room in the early 80’s. This steroid thing goes deep and is a stupid argument to single out the Yankees for this.

The list of 86 Mets that weren't doing coke is a lot shorter than the list of those doing it.

You forgot Clemmens, Conseco, Pettite, Leyritz, Hill, Justice, etc. No wonder the Yankees 3 Peated.

That article is a HUGE tarnish on those Yankee teams. I guess there won't be many that make the HOF from a team that accomplished so much,ya think? It should have had several get in,but we now CLEARLY know why that won't happen. Will many or any end up in Monument Park? I bet not even Yankee brass would want to tarnish that tradition.

Did you even read the article?? They list so many players that barely played for the Yankees and others like Gianni who wasn't a part of any NY Yankee World Series victory. That is the dumbest article ever on steroids

Did you hear Yankee fan Francessa today? Wow, he told Yankee fans not to gloat about any other teams when the subject of roids comes up. He said their list is amazing. Nice to hear him cut up the Yankees, when so many on hear love to quote him when he's on a Mets rant. Of course, their won't be many if any that will admit they heard him today, lol.

Of course, but did I really need to? Isn't there enough proof out there how tainted a majority of their WS wins were in those days? After all, you got another Yankee fan trivializing the 69 and 86 Mets WS wins.

Wasn't me. And you know when I do to the Mets thread it' hoping they do well. NYC is a great place when both are playing well. Needless to say I haven't been on the Mets Board in awhile [winking]

Yeah, Pettite, Clemmens, Leyritz barely played for them.
