Excessive Heat Watch already posted for Sunday through Tuesday. Looks like our heat begins on Saturday and will run at least through Tuesday and possibly beyond. Sunday and Monday look to be the peak of the heat.

This will be the 2nd heatwave of the season for most in NJ. I had 5 straight days of 90s (7 out of 8 days) the first week in July topping out at 97. We could approach or exceed those numbers on Sunday and Monday. I have 11 90 plus degree days this season in Belle Mead

Forecasted highs

Saturday: 94
Sunday: 96
Monday: 97
Tuesday: 93
Wednesday: 91
Thursday: 90

Enjoy fellas! Should be a great beach weekend with low tides.

108 possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, northern, northwest and southern

increase the potential for heat related illnesses,
particularly for those working or participating in outdoor

values will depend on the amount of cloud cover and coverage
of thunderstorms each day.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during
warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.

It's summer. Heat happens. Southern Florida and Arizona residents would laugh at 90s weather just like we laugh at North Carolina residents when they get a little bit of snow in the winter and they have no idea how to drive in it.

Yup, pretty normal for mid or late July. What you don't want to see is sustained days of high 90s even triple digits like we had in 2010, I believe. I'm sure Bac loved it though, power grid in NB, not so much...

Good weather to mow the lawn.

I'll trade the heat for no wind. Its been 10mph or over nearly every single day since late March. I've never remotely seen anything like this before. Cycling has been a challenge everyday.
Just bought a road bike and have been riding on Lbi a lot. There have been some tough rides into the wind, but not dealing with hills helps.

Really don't want to get off topic but the heat has led to more street violence typically in big cities

Could be a rough weekend in NYC, Philly, Baltimore and cities in the area.

Also, check on seniors especially if they don't have ac

For us in the burbs and rural areas, it's not too bad when in a pool or lake and in the shade.

Ice cold beers help as well

Thus why I don't live in S. Florida and Arizona and never will. The sensation of oppressive heat and burning is not one I will ever desire.

Looked at retiring to S. Carolina no F-ing way, beautiful but hot as hell, Montana is more my temps. I always say, my people weren't built for hot weather, the mountains yes. God didn't give me this fur coat everywhere to be sitting on a beach.

Fur coat ..lol.

When I lived at around 7,000 feet, hitting 90 was a rarity. Summers sunny, in the 80s, low humidity. A full day of rain was rare; storms usually passed in hours, if not minutes. Damn near perfect.

The winters weren't for everyone tho.
