Lost our electricity from about 6pm last night until a little after 3am this morning. Not cool! Didn't get much sleep so cannot wait to go home from my office later....

93 imby
Wasn't this supposed to be the high point of your big "heat wave"?
Odd post??? I said Sunday and Monday would be the peak and that is true.
94 imby today for the high
Looks like several places hit 97 today
Crap, that sux, big time!Lost our electricity from about 6pm last night until a little after 3am this morning. Not cool! Didn't get much sleep so cannot wait to go home from my office later....
Is there a rule only Al Roker can post? I must've missed that. I think I'll start 50 threads on weather and hmmm...ice cream!Odd?
94 just seems like a regular July day. Not even high 90s. Over-hyped nothingburger.
Should leave weather threads to Numbers.

Btw..it's hot AF in Jersey today.

2010% my dog just melted on a walk.Lol. What's the humidity?
I've had mid/high 90s all month and believe it snuck up to 100 a couple times. But ...dry heat, ftw!
Still, I try not to step outdoors until after 6 pm.

You were as hot as we were in SA with a much higher dew point (75 vs 60)...well done jersey!:Wink:97.7 @ 1:21pm - North Brunswick
I rode from Philly to A.C. My goal was to leave around 5:45/6:30 but life things happen and I didn't hit the road till after 7am. I paid the price. The last hour was brutal. Glad I finished but won't do that again in this heat.Went mountain biking down at Hartshorne this afternoon, this is the weather I live for (or will kill me), I love a great sweat.

Ben Franklin Bridge and mostly 561. At times on 73 and 30. It's the Tour de Shore route. 65.5 miles. Had to get over to 30 in Galloway to get liquids. There no place South to get drinks on the path South of Hammonton. What's your route?
Wow..good for you. I'd be passed out on the road. Haha65.5 miles
I struggled today. I've been riding a lot but today was not a good day and the weather was just a part of it. Watching baseball late night wasn't a good decision. But...Wow..good for you. I'd be passed out on the road. Haha

Giro helmets. My wife just got her first real bike.
I told her she can't ride out of our neighborhood until she got a helmet.
Any reasonable recommendations of a brand to look into?
It's not an anomaly. It's actually fairly routine especially in the spring and early summer. Air temps inland can be in the 90s and in the low 60s even 50s along the beach. Simply ocean temps and winds blowing onshore. One of you weather gurus ,please explain this one.About 18 years ago, I took my middle Grandson, then 15 years old, to Seaside from his home in Westampton,NJ.A very hot, bright sunny day that hit 102 mid afternoon. We went over the bridge, parked and headed for the boards. We noticed that ,at once, it was a lot cooler then when we had left Westampton. GOT ON THE BOARDS ,WINDY AND COLD. Not cooler,COLD.We were wearing Tee shirts.Went into a casino so that Eric could play the machines.Freezing wind. Both of us were extremely uncomfortable. After a very short ,shivering while we gave up and went back to the car.As soon as we got back over the bridge ,I opened a window and we were back in the HOT air again.I reflected many times since, that I should have found a store and bought us a couple of sweat shirts and enjoyed the anomaly. So someone please explain why the actual COLD on the boards..
Perhaps you should consult RU#'s about this. Also after a brief respite over the weekend with highs only in the upper 80s, there is a potential for a big ridge over the central US to move eastward bringing another possible heatwave next week but models are uncertain this far out
Too soon to start a new thread on that but that could change by the weekend
Do you mean only numbers knows the real numbers.:FirePerhaps you should consult RU#'s about this.
Whoa 5 days...90s in July? So weird! I blame Covid or climate change!:Wink:90 Imby...5th day of heatwave commences
