OT: Politi rooting for Hurley and UConn

Politi writes for NJ.com. A news website about NJ and people from NJ. He is not employed by Rutgers. Why don't people here understand that?
This forum is full of clowns. They literally get upset that he doesn't spin biased bullshit about the program when he has no affiliation to the university and then get mad when he actually does his job.

Yeah, Politi! You better just write about Rutgers, or else!
f-him
he'll jump on the bandwagon when he knows his petty digs won't be tolerated.
Best way for that to happen is Rutgers MBB become known as a winning program.
Right now it's a winner, but that isn't well known by most college basketball fans so Potiti can berate RU so he can get attention , making like RUMBB is still a loser.

Yup, NJ based sports writer should be rooting for a team in Cali or 1 of 2 in Florida. Makes sense, especially if you’ll get no hits on your post. For the uneducated, a “hit” is opening his article. 😵‍💫

Am I supposed to care?
Why do people keep posting all these media members and their articles/tweets just to get outraged over it?

Funny thought - wouldn't HC Pike say he's rooting for UConn?

The Hurley’s couldn’t find the RAC with a GPS. So Danny is repping NJ?
I find it funny that people think a coach at a small high school without a gym actually owed something to the state university. Gimme a break, i hope UCONN gets it done

There is no question that UConn and St.Johns will be highly successful basketball programs with Hurley and Pitino as head coaches. They are both great recruiters .The Big East will be reclaiming recognition as a top tier basketball conference.

What would you have liked? It's not like RU did anything for them
Just by accident, more of his players could have played ball in Piscataway. Hurley coached for a long time. Probably we can count on one hand the number of St. Anthony players that wore a Rutgers uniform. I’d love to hear the number of Div-1 players from Hurley’s teams, then the number that wore Rutgers uniforms.

Why is it his responsibility to send players to Rutgers?

I hate this "need to be loyal" stuff.
It's the Rutgers HC responsibility to make the program enticing to recruits - not hope to be bailed out by HS coaches of elite recruits (see the current state of the football program. Results improve recruiting - not a zip code).

You think Ace Bailey's HS coach is sort of Rutgers homer? Doubt it. HC Pike built the program with what he could and made it a destination for recruits from any state.

Do you think if we were bottom of the Big Ten still, Gavin is coming here? No way - no matter how close the family ties are.

I live in a very nice house Section8NYC.
Don’t forget to check your rat traps today.

I gave you a compliment ITT , you were finally able to make a post without mentioning Trump. Congrats.
Lol, a compliment? You probably thought Bob Dylan actually shot the sheriff

RU vs Duke basketball, among others, when Hurley coached St. As. Tough choice for the players. 😵‍💫

Hurley had lots of players who went Div-1 — more than 150. They didn’t all go to Duke.
St. Anthony, as we know, is patron saint of lost things. One of those was Rutgers as a destination for St. Anthony’s players.

He had zero responsibility to try and get kids to go to Rutgers. If anything, he needed to get them as far from Jersey as possible. And other than his son, he never sent anyone to Duke..Rashown McLeod transferred there..plenty went to smaller schools

Like the Hurley's or not Bob Sr is a legendary NJ HS HC
Danny is a highly successful College HC
at St.Benedick's Prep he was 223-21
and Bobby Jr is the ASU HC who though not as successful as Danny
made the Buffalo MBB program look good before he jumped to ASU where he;s been mildly successful during his 8 years as the HC at a program that has had sporadic success in the past

Just because they might not seem to be Rutgers friendly, they all are respected in the basketball world
That said Go U

Time for Rutgers fans to be happy for a former assistant … though we didn’t get many St. Anthony players blame our past records and inability to win consistently . Blame our late AD golf coach who had the opportunity but listened to the wrong guy in Pennsytucky. Gave our spot to Seton Hall and we know how that played out.
