And of course a top 5 coach rant of all time. Of all time.

He was a groundbreaker in many ways — the first black head coach in B1G history at Northwestern. Unfortunately, he left that job on bad terms as the NU administration then provided zero support for the program. I lived a few doors down from his brother while in college and heard very little about Dennis that wasn't extremely positive.

He lived in Del Mar . My girlfriend and I met him at a local restaurant years ago with his family. We ate and laughed for two hours talking about his journey in the NFL and college. She knew nothing about football or Denny but she became a huge fan and became a friend after I went back to JerseyJust a wonderful guy with a wonderful family. Damn....
