Let the fights begin.

Story is from the Asbury Park Press. Says Monmouth/Ocean County could get 0 to 1.5 inches.

Heading out for the milk, bread and egg.

APP STORY

New 12z GFS is in and it keeps the accumulating snow east of the area with just a few snow showers around for Saturday across the region.

Most model guidance now supports this solution

So you should unlink them.

This is what the Philly office is saying:

That's the Maximum Potential Map, not the actual Forecast Map.

The APP was very irresponsible posting that map, which is the "maximum amount possible" map, not the expected amount map, which is zero, state-wide. Maybe someone's been hitting the sauce, lol. Shouldn't expect more than a few flurries tomorrow in NJ. Could see 1-2" on central/eastern LI/CT, though - sure it's theoretically possible the inverted trough could set up west of there and close to here, bringing us some snow, but that would be a huge surprise.

Woke up this morning to about an inch of snow here in western Morris county. Was just below freezing and it had stuck on the Road surfaces, trees and of course on top of the existing snow.... Was shocked to see that this morning. Had not looked at any forecasts the past few days

Was only slushy driving through it , but it was enough that everything was coated in white this AM. Prior to yesterday lawn was mostly still covered in snow.. but was starting to see a few peeks of grass. .. and still had 1 to 2 foot piles along my driveway... Guess the big melt will have to wait a few more days. with the sub freezing temps expected the next 2 nights.

Agreed. I was pretty busy at work today, and took a quick break, read the story, but not too closely. Sorry for the false alarm. But this weather does suck. I'm leaving for Arizona Tuesday, and then Cali, coming back April 9 or 10. It better be sunny and warm in NJ by then..

All I have to say is ****!

2" in a snap! Roads seem fine but thats not the point...

Well I've decided to live dangerously and not pick up an extra milk, eggs or bread.

The snow weenies must be crying...lot of hype last week about this weekend snow and waves of cold...after this current cold day or two we are back into the 50s...cue Numbers grasping to some remote chance of an easter storm

My cousin just posted this picture to Facebook from East Hampton. She says they have about 3.5 inches already and it's sticking.

Your posts are approaching trolling, much like you do frequently on AmericanWx. Show me where I hyped anything for this weekend (I said at most flurries in Central Jersey, with accumulating snow possible N and E of NYC, which is exactly what happened, with 1-3" common). And I said next weekend was mostly likely cold rain, which is still true - but it remains true that the storm/pattern could evolve into some snow for even the big cities: snow is very unlikely but possible, which would be extremely rare for April, but that's what this pattern at least makes possible. I'm not "grasping" at anything - merely reporting what's possible. And by the way, I still have just a touch of snow left on about 10% of my lawn, in the shade.

Bac is just cranky because the March Lamb is nowhere to be seen. Temps still 10-15 degrees below average, still snowing, my kids baseball team can't even practice yet. I'm hoping this thing flips and we go right into summer.

After today 50 and above all week...even low 60s for Thursday and Friday...winter is over

Please Please Please be right.

I am so stinkin sick of the cold weather. I feel like the guy in the Kingsford Charcoal commercial.

"Get this man a Burger!"

Around 49 years ago we had our 1st 2 HS golf matches postponed. I believe it was after April 1. The 1st because it was snowing and the 2nd because there was still snow on the course we were scheduled to play on.

2-3" this morning here in orange Cty...rhymes with DUCK!

Since it was a surprise event...accidents all over the place...especially on the scarier Mtn roads...

spring days alert this week.....today if the clouds break we get sunshine in the mid 50s....Thursday looks like the gem of the week with full sunshine and highs in the low 60. Friday will be cloudy with showers but the warmest of the week with highs in the mid 60s. Yes spring is coming.

bac - do you really think localized, elevation-driven snows in a few locales (most got well less than an inch) are really a sign of forecasts not getting better? You know it's not, so please stop with the trolling.

Another chance for snow Tuesday afternoon/evening, mostly just in the suburbs well inland (like west of 287 in Morris County and north of 287 near the Hudson), with accumulating snow likely confined to the higher elevation in the Poconos, Sussex, and the Catskills (1-2" maybe). Could see a few flurries down towards the I-95 corridor by midnight, but wouldn't bank on it.

This weekend's event is looking rainy/showery, although with temps slotted to go below freezing again on Saturday night, if there's any leftover moisture, there could be some snow (accumulating snow is a longshot) if the forecast trends colder and wetter - still possible 5 days out.

bac - you'll be happy to know that some models are calling for it to hit 70F on Friday afternoon. I like spring, too, and would love to see it.

So I just talked with Linda - it's snowing up at our house in Wayne.

There are a lot of North East ski areas still open. That's unheard of this late in the season. Camelback has a 40" base, 34 or 34 trails open and are forecasting 2" of new snow today/tonight. It's March 31!

I'm in Sparta, it has been snowing for the last hour...I would say about a half an inch on the grass....not sticking on the roads though...

It hasn't stopped snowing, its now over an inch, and now the roads are covered.

My friend in Hackettstown just posted a pic - he has about an inch on the grass, but nothing on the paved surfaces; that could change as the sun goes down and cooler temps move in. Lots of reports of 1-2" of snow at higher elevations in NW NJ and the Hudson Valley. Snow even reported as close as parts of Bergen and Morris Counties. One cool observation from a guy in Manhattan that it's snowing on the 25th floor, but raining at ground level. I bet there's an inch on the ground 1000 feet up, lol. Would be happy to see a few last flakes later tonight, especially after midnight (that gets us a trace of snow for April). This weekend's threat is just about dead...

Well, here's my backyard:
