OT - So why again did the NFL move 2 teams to LA?

Fannie in the seat means much less than TV/cable eyeballs. The exact reason RU won the Golden Ticket to the Big 10.

And the Chargers are a San Diego team, few in LA care about a San Diego team renting a stadium for a short while. The Rams are vagabonds. These are TV franchises. If they were concerned about attendance they would lower the seat price to equal demand (very low).

The Chargers weren't really doing well in San Diego. They could not sell out their games and as a result, the NFL were blacking out their games. The Rams in St Louis wanted a new stadium but the city was hesitating. Kasten used this as an excuse to move to LA. Right now, the Raiders still have a hold in this city, but things could change when the new stadium opens. In fact, the Chargers have a new sales motto- "the Fight for LA." USC football is even outdrawing the Rams in the same facility.

It doesnt help that general admission parking was $100.
That is soooooooooo stupid.

Pro sports are nothing more that TV entertainment. Game over for me actually caring about wins and losses for pro sport now (I cried as a 7yrs old when Buff came back over my Warren Moon Oilers. My old man is still p*ssed Everite to Flipper Anderson over the Gmen in the playoffs).

Think about it. 8pm east coast start times for MLB. 160 regular games to figure out who makes the playoffs?

NFL games on Monday, Thursday, Sunday, Sunday night then Saturday after college is done. Games in London. They want to get rid of 2 preseason games and GO 18 GAMES - They don't care if guys have no knees when they are 40 and the products is terrible.

Its all about providing TV games year round. Or as close as they can get on TV year round.

People in seats? I would put money on it, LA will be the last big stadium to be built. They will go smaller, 40,000 seats with more boxes and bars to charge corporations more.

The customer service at Pro sports events are getting worse. I remember when I went to a Lakers game at Staples Center. I bought a ticket on Stub Hub and I bought the ticket at the same time as some other fan. When I was escorted to my seat, the seat was occupied. They called security and escorted me out of the arena like I was a criminal. I called Stub Hub and they refunded my money. They then gave me another ticket for another game for free, but I was still angry at Staples Center. After the free game, I never went to any pro game again. After all, I am happy watching pro games in HD on my TV at home.

USC will only out draw them for Texas game. It had been hyped as the rematch of the championship game from a while back. USC doesn't come close to drawing that many fans at every game. More like 50,000-60,000 max.

The stadium of the future:

All of your lower bowl seating on one sideline, the side facing the camera so it looks good on TV.

Above that, suites, suites, and more suites.

On the press box side, a literal wall of suites.

Attendance 30,000 per game but it looks great on TV and the owners get tons of $$$ from those suites.

They did. $6 tix were available for the Rams game.

More like 75,00-80,000k.

They haven't seen attendance that low since Hackett was coach in the 90s.

Give it time, there fan bases will inevitably grow. They are 2 games into their season's and you guys are screaming failure already, smh.

Oh, and the NFL didn't choose to move two teams there, they chose to move there. The Rams belong in LA.

The owners had to approve the move.
Actually, they didn't have to approve the moves but both St. Louis and San Diego were terrible situations compared to whats about to be built in LA. It's a no brainer and as I said, the Rams belong in LA.

Whatever happens no doubt the owners have deals structured so that they'll make lots of money.

Absolutely, moon was top 5 all time
Warren Moon was an absolute beast, ironically he had a delayed start to an NFL career because he was black and the thinking back then was that a black man wasn't smart enough to be an NFL QB, yet he is called the racist.

Wait till the IRS gets rid of the business expense write-off.

I get the point, although it's a little misleading. The Chargers are temporarily playing in a 27,000 seat soccer stadium that puts quite an artificial cap on their attendance until their shiny new stadium is built.
The Chargers would rather play in a 27,000 seat stadium for the next few years over staying in San Diego, think about that. I watched the San Diego State game this weekend, they actually had a power outage and had to stop the game for a while...and that was supposed to be an NFL stadium, lol

New York venues are generally the worst. I only go to Yankee stadium if the ticket is free. Why go to a game when you're treated like crap. MSG is bad too...

Whatever that stadium in San Diego is called is an absolute dump. The last time I was there I swore I would never go back. It's so incredibly antiquated.

The Chargers management gave them every opportunity to do something that in some amount of time, they will likely do anyway.

San Diego is a weekend getaway town. It has so much to offer potentially, yet falls so short.
