I am not arguing for or against, but the whole premise of the article is wrong. Cis-women (read: women) and trans-men (read: women who feel and dress as they are men) both have the need for it. Trans-men would be using the men's bathroom. This is not for men to have equal access to free tampons.

I spent last weekend in the Finger Lakes section of NY ( Ithaca) and flew in and out of Syracuse on Allegiant Airlines. Finger Lakes area is a very scenic and beautiful area of NY State and the weather was great before the frigid temps take over the area in the next few weeks.
But when I drove thru the downtown areas of Syracuse on RT 81 to and from the airport and saw signs for the Carrier Dome and Cuse Univ I have to admit that my sense of nirvana quickly came to a halt from what I experienced in the Finger Lakes. Think of Trenton Airport in a much more run down area where the deep freeze is about to set in. I don't want to call Syracuse a hell hole, but it's certainly a close family neighbor to hell as we might expect it to be.
Spending 4 years of college up there is beyond what I would consider cruel and inhuman punishment for young people.

A female-to-male transsexual who is pre-op and still has a uterus might need them. Fortunately I never make the mistake of thinking Americans can deal with such issues in an adult manner so I'm not surprised at the reaction by some here.

That's step 1 of any gender reassignment surgery. If they're not taking hormones then they're not "pre-op".

My buddy, who I graduated Piscataway High School with, went to school at Elmira, and I visited him when he was there. It's beautiful. Not even sure how he knew it was an option since I'd never heard of it.
