Plenty of games on TV tonight. Amazed at the number of empty seats at many of the games. Maybe just huge seating capacity arenas, mid-week-have work-tomorrow.

Bad teams in irrelevant conferences. Big Ten has 9 of the top 10 schools in number of living alumni. (After USC and UCLA join). Big East is a shell without the football schools even if they won’t admit it. Once proud programs now basically in the OVC, WCC.

Don’t underestimate power in numbers. We’re used to Big Ten play where besides Penn State every team fills the place. Even putrid Nebraska. Meanwhile ESPN2 was watching Memphis (once proud program) in an AAC thriller vs Tulane and the arena looked like a rec league tournament

Was thinking the same thing.

Villanova v. Georgetown looks 90% empty in DC.

Iowa State at Oklahoma. Two good teams. Lots of empty seats. Folks missed a great game.

Both my boys go to school in DC so we go to Capitals games a lot.

The CapitalOne is a very nice place but maybe too big for a Big East game.

Well. It’s too big when Georgetown has been down for years and Villanova is not Jay Wright Villanova anymore.

People are turned off by NIL. Hitting attendance and ratings hard.
