Caught the last few minutes of Va. St vs Elizabeth City St today. Va St was winning by about 35 with 2 minutes left. Anyhow, I notice this huge player from Va St jogging down on offense and they pass him the ball in the corner, all alone. Catches it, looks at the basket and shoots, swish. The crowd goes wild and continues cheering until the clock runs out. Obviously, a fan favorite.
His name is Matt Murphy and he played 8 minutes. His stat line: fgs 4-4, 3 pts 1-1, no FTAs. Nothing extra special, but maybe we need somebody like him. Oh, he's a senior and is 6'8"" 330 lbs. Maybe a post grad on the FB team for a year.
