Anyone own one of these? Seems like a new one costs about 1k more than
say a traditional 42" mower. Any insight?

Hope we get JG!

I have quite a bit of lawn to mow so a few years ago I bought a Toro commercial model with a 60" deck that is fantastic. It is much faster, more powerful (can handle thick or wet grass easily) and more agile than a traditional riding mower. Parts, such as a new belt, are expensive but overall this has been a great investment.

I needed to make a change because I was spending way too much time mowing on an older, traditional riding mower.

Yes, it's amazing the spaces you can get in and out of and how quickly you can turn 180 degress to start mowing the opposite direction.

I have a 50" Dixie Chopper. I cut my 3.6 acres in under two hours. If I were to buy one now, it would be 60" because I don't have a fence to get into like I used to. If you have a large yard, this is the way to go. You need ground speed and BLADE tip speed to effectively cut at a good rate. And like the previous poster said, you can cut throught thick, wet grass without slowing down.

Have had one for 8 years. Will never go back. Worth
any extra cost.
