our fans boo laviano

There's no other way a fanbase can express their frustration towards a stubborn coach who stuck it to them when it was clear that the fanbase wanted to see Rettig play. I feel bad for Laviano but I still have no problem with the booing. Besides, the turmoil will make him mentally stronger.

Wow. We have some bad fans. Really bad.

Booing the kid after he returns from injury.
I was booing the fact that Flood prefers a hurt Laviano to a healthy Rettig. Complete incompetence.

Maryland defense knew we were going to run the ball. Laviano couldn't threw. It's about football decisions not feelings. Flood continues to make terrible football decisions.

Classless fans horrible

Carlin Lucas Lagrande all said it

Embarrassing

Look, I love Eric, but this is not exactly a HOF announcing team. If they have no finger on the pulse of the team, and left it unsaid that the booing for Flood, they are not doing their job. Laviano was obviously shaken up. And to prove the point, they ran two predictable runs for losses and basically lost the game on that series because they didn't trust Laviano to throw there.

I was busy yelling at the ref, since I thought Laviano took a cheap hit to the head, and BOTH morons in stripes were looking downfield.

BUT, the booing from my section was directed at Flood, poor timing, but had nothing to with Laviano. Kudos to him for bouncing back.

P.S. Flood is a stubborn, arrogant ass. Play calling in 2nd half was a joke. Has Rossi been fired yet? He should be first to go.

They were booing the coaches handling of the situation, which is atrocious and embarrassing.

This! Totally clueless Carlin and Lucas! Booing Flood not Laviano. Two dives into line during crucial point of game confirmed god awful decisions by coaching staff.

Wrong. Totally clueless fans that were booing and fans that are now attempting to defend that booing. It's utterly irrelevant who was being booed at the precise time Laviano retook the field after getting hurt completing a pass.

I agree. And the sight of this kid running back in with his hands waving to the booers as if to say "bring it on....louder" made me feel more embarrassed to be a Rutgers fan than anything that's ever happened here...ever.
They should all be ashamed of themselves. The guy had just taken a big hit, left for one play, and was returning to the game. And you take THAT moment to let it be known what you think about Flood's choice of Laviano as the starting qb ? And please stop with the "we weren't booing Chris" stuff. He knew who you were booing.
Let's just hope that any kid that ever thinks about playing quarterback for RU didn't see that exhibition. Just sad,

Well, we do know they're booing the coaches, but I agree -- that was not the time or place for the boos.

Do we know that? I've been in the stands enough over the past decade to hear awful things said about Mike Teel and Gary Nova (and see them get booed). Let's not make excuses for the idiots.

That being said, I wish Laviano had acted with the grace that Teel and Nova showed and didn't give these people a response.

I think people are over reacting here just a bit. The boos lasted for all of five seconds. Will it have killed Flood if he kept Laviano on the sidelines for one series? Laviano rushed back into the game and handed the ball off twice for a three and out. When is a fan allowed to boo? I'm asking a serious question, when is it acceptable to stand up and shout "try the other guy, you have nothing to lose".

I feel that Laviano knows full well that fans want Rettig to play. I agree that it's not his fault that the HC doesn't give the other kid a shot. But as unfortunate as it may seem fans can only express their feelings by either not going to the game or booing. There is s great deal of frustration on the banks.
no excuse.. no class

I was away for the holiday and did not make it to the game. I did watch it on TV. While I was concerned about CL getting hurt, I did let out a cheer when HR entered the game, not so much because of what it meant to the game, but more because of what he has been through this year, handling it with class (in my opinion), and finally having a chance to take his FIRST meaningful snaps of the season. I don't think I would have booed if I was there, but I certainly was screaming at Flood for continuing to prove that he is just not meant to coach football at this level.
