Panicking about a 1 TD conference road loss? Really?

Maybe it shouldn't be a surprise anymore but the meltdowns after one close loss are really a sight to see. Most teams other than Ohio State lose conference games in this conference, and even they sometimes drop one or two. It's a good conference. That's bound to happen.

Most people expected 7-9 wins this season. How are we not on track for that? Every other team we have left has already lost at least a game.

Nebraska isn't a bad team, and but for the inexplicable TD they didn't call, we at the minimum go into OT.

VT beat Stanford 31-7 and Washington beat Michigan 27-17. Those are quality wins for us.

Same crap as last year I guess where we are going to hear from the usual suspects all season how NW and VT were not quality wins and GS can't beat teams with a winning record and the same people run and hide when confronted with the insane lies.

Looking at the remainder of the schedule Nebraska may be among the top 3 toughest games we have. Relax.

Coach Schiano has lost to Nebraska by a total of 15 points in three games ! Nebraska may not be Big 8 /Big 12 Nebraska, but losing by that few points to a program like theirs is nothing to hang your head over.

I tend to agree. We all have bigger aspirations, but just 3 or 4 years ago, I certainly would have said to myself “man, I just hope we can get competitive in this conference.” Well folks, we are. Now it’s about building from here.

We beat VT this year when most on this board didn’t think we would beat them again after last year. I didn’t think we would beat Washington, the runner up last year but we did. Their win over Michigan show they are a good team. We beat Miami in the bowl game who are now ranked #7 in the country. I know there have been a lot of changes for the team over last year but they are 75% the same team. I thought we might beat Nebraska but maybe home court does make a difference.

I think we will continue to get better in a few more years.

More frustration for RU fans than anything else.
We have lost 6 in row to Nebraska since joining the B1G.
The last 3 losses were by 7 points, 1 point, and 7 points.
These were not against top notch Nebraska teams. And the way we lost … inexcusable play calling, mistakes, mental errors, etc. is hard to accept.

It’s incredible what Schiano is doing with no money from his rabid fanbase to go out and get the players he wants to win. We are in the NIL era and we are not involved and we are still ultra competitive. He can have a life long contract as far as I am concerned.

This sums up my frustration with yesterday. The game was there for the taking. Can’t not convert on 3rd and 4th downs. Kids played well and hard for most of the game. Not blaming the team. The offensive staff needs to look themselves in the mirror and know they didn’t put their team in the best position to succeed. Defensive staff and players stepped up when needed. Offensive staff let the team down.

So when we beat MN and IL what will you say then? They stink. Just change narrative however you want. We are on equal footing with all those teams. Its a long season with lots of ups and downs. Team still on track for 8-4/9-3 season IMO. Lose USC. Every other game is a toss up or a 3-4 pt spread one way or other
