What is that gym and why wasn't it converted into a basketball only practice facility years ago? I'm assuming it has locker rooms

That is the Barn, the hallowed ground and 3,000 seat gym on College Avenue where RU played its way into the Final Four in 1976.

Too bad that wasn't converted into a practice facility years ago. Of course if there's no room to build a duplicate one next to it that would be a problem because you need one for the men and one for the women.

2200 seats, I think ... maybe a few more, but not 3000 seats, I do not think.
 
And there is a pool behind the wall on the right.

College Ave Gym had the best pick-up games on campus when I went there (06-10). I still miss the hell out of those days.

Yeah, not sure recruits would be too impressed playing in an 86 year old building.
All about the renovation.

Maryland converted Cole Field House into an IPF, Duke has CIS and Kansas has Allen Field House. All of those are old buildings that recruits are impressed by.
