Patrick Kivlehan won Rutgers Football letters from 2008-11. He played Rutgers baseball for the first time in his senior year and was named Big East Player of the Year. He got drafted and bounced around the minors and finally made his major league debut August 20, 2016 with the San Diego Padres. He struck out in the third inning; hit a 432-foot bomb into the left field stands off Arizona's Robbie Ray to tie the score at 1 for his first major league hit; singled to right in the eighth but was stranded at third; and struck out in the ninth as the Padres lost to the Diamondbacks 2-1.

Kivlehan joins Eric Young (1985-88 RU FB) and played from 1992-06 with the Dodgers, Rockies, Cubs, Brewers, Giants, Rangers and Padres and Walter French (1918-19 RC FB) who played with Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics from 1923, 25-29. French also played with the NFL Rochester Jeffersons in 1922 and the NFL Pottsville Maroons in 1925.

Congratulations Patrick Kivlehan and good luck with your MLB career!
