In Tim Alberta’s new book on Trump reshaping the GOP. Here are some excerpts:

You had your chance to speak up, Paul but failed miserably. You are complicit just like the rest of the spineless GOP. Disgusting.

Did you bother to read what Paul said. He basically admits trump doesn’t know what the f*ck he’s doing and that he wanted to “scold” him on his ineptitude but instead he tucked his tail between his legs and didn’t stand up or challenge trump. He was in a position to speak up (as speaker of the house) to the rest of the GOP minions about trump and he did nothing. Now, that he is in his “safe space” of retirement he wants to speak up. He’s complicit in enabling trump’s behavior and is now ringing the alarm about him being president.

Says the CE board’s very own jersey shore wannabe. A guy who only has “liquid courage” shouldn’t dare call someone else a coward.

Politicians on both sides mostly play along to get along w/their party. And Ryan did speak out, at times, against some things Trump did or said, which is not exactly a ubiquitous behavior among politicians on either side.

Do we wish all politicians would be completely honorable all the time? Sure. But the system makes it very difficult to do. Not all politicians speak out even after they're out of office. At least Ryan's doing that.

He'd probably build a shrine to him if there's any room with the ever expanding one he has dedicated to Trump.

That’s your response to everything that’s negative against trump. All that was missing was “TDS.” I think a lot people care that a republican former speaker of the house confirmed what many of us sane Americans already knew. Trump is an out of control, inept loon holding the highest office of the land and his spineless GOP “supporters” know this but are too afraid to stand up to the orange clown. They just fall in line and hope for the best. Losers.

No newly elected potus ever had as much opposition from within his own party as Trump did, including for a long while from within his own cabinet.

Trump was elected in no small measure to be a disrupter of people like Paul Ryan who never get anything done despite their vast knowledge of how DC works. It is perhaps Trump’s most redeeming quality that he doesn’t take no for an answer. He has a force of will and persistence about him that you just don’t see from career politicians. They aren’t as comfortable operating in the heat as Trump is.

Paul Ryan also only cares about Paul Ryan and what speaking engagements, how much money and what board he can sit on. He maxes that by not aligning with Trump

Yeah, Trump, the single most narcissistic person I've ever seen, doesn't care about being liked at all.

Don't confuse Trump's being very unlikable as him not wanting to be liked.

It’s not very difficult to say something bad about Trump.
    Quite easy, in fact.

And I am not a libtard.

Voted Republican my whole life. But Trump is easy to dislike for his personal behavior alone (even if you like his policies).

I always wished he would stop acting like an ass once he took office, and just do the things he said he would in his campaign.
If he did that, he would be much more popular (or at least not hated by half the country), and he would easily win re-election.

    Guess he can’t help himself.
