I know RU played solid defense but I think you are angling to overstate how good...Penn State was pretty terrible on offense yesterday. They missed some easy shots, they missed foul shots, quite frankly they went up by 18 and then were absolutely pathetic..some of that RU but alot of that their own failings...this was not a good Penn State team, they did really nothing on offense except taking advantage of RU poor unispired play for about 3 minutes in the 2nd half to go on a 14-0 run to give them a cushion by making open 3s and dunks because RU decided to crawl into a ball
These are clearly the two worst teams in the Big 10, if PSU had a pulse they would have won by 25-30, if RU played with more of what we saw earlier from them this game would go down to the wire and RU could have won this game

This game was lost at the start of the game when Penn State went 0-10 shooting and Rutgers only scored 5 points by Williams.If Rutgers had any semblance of a offense, they would have established a double digit lead which should have led the team to victory.The fact Penn State only scored 60 points is reason enough to believe that this was one of the few league games where Rutgers should have won easily and yet lost by double digits.There is no margin for error scoring less than 50 points or for that matter less than 60 points.
They are very young. Most likely you are right. They also are lacking size. They have good defensive stats which is encouraging for them being a young team.

they are young and that freshmen class was rated top 25 so yes they will get better, but yesterday they presented nothing special on either side of the ball that RU was pretty much out of the game in the 2nd half. More RU's doing then Penn State doing. PSU was 0-10 to start the game and generally was pretty terrible on offense trying to coast the last 11 minutes, it says more that RU failed to capitalize at any time during those PSU dry spells. I saw the crowd was giving a standing O down 12 with 4 minutes to go and I was scratching my head, they had already had numerous chances down court to show that they might pull of a comeback, at no time did I think they were serious about coming back and winning that game
