Per Politi: No fans this year for Giants/Jets/Rutgers (RU - 500 max for coaches / players family)

I think they plan very limited students and staff back. In that case they can’t have 15 k fans flooding the campus when hey don’t feel it’s safe to have any students back.

Flooding the campus? Like what we go hang out in the dorms pre-game?
15k fans could easily be safely parked across the close in lots with controlled entry-exit. Nobody is going to hang out in the locked up Student center, Dorms, Classrooms, etc.

What happens if Murphy expands the 500 limit to a much higher amount? does RU reconsider?

I mean our SDMA of daily cases is under 300 and declining with ten of thousands if not more going to the beaches every day for a couple months now. How would a 25% capacity game 5-7 times over 3 months be any different?
20,000 at NY protest but 500 in a large stadium?

‘That’s across 17 different branch offices.
Keeping 500 in the que is easy.

It is easy? Nothing seems easy in this state for this Governor.

The strange this is, it is not really that difficult to do things the right way. For example, they could make an alphabetical system to limit people by their first letter of their last name to a certain day of the week.

Or like the new license system for airport IDs, they could make people make appointments online and only show up if they have an appointment.

football options have not formally been communicated yet. MBB sent out an email awhile ago saying that the options would be refund/defer/donate. The assumption is that football will have the same options.
Thank you. I was starting to feel left out of the loop. Which isn't uncommon for me.:)
I have Football and Wrestling season tickets, this year is just one long suck fest.

Wow! There are probably 8K people in MVC lines each day. The randomness of it all is starting to bother me.
I Agree... the MVC lines are crazy and not under control. However, why isn't there consideration given to the amount of Square feet that the stadium holds and the ability to spread out the crowd reasonably throughout? The 500 person limit has to have certain guidelines and square footage. I would expect an outdoor stadium with both upper and lower decks to be able to have a higher capacity.

Murphy doesn't trust people to act like adults.
Yup! Totally without merit. Murphy has asked the state to mask up and socially distance. We as a state have complied and now have one of the lowest rates of COVID in the U.S. If Rutgers asked fans to sit every third seat I do think fans would comply. But since it is not up to me, We will all be watching games on BTN.

I just said this to my group. We're debating whether or not Rutgers would throw us off the property...
Middlesex county cops are salivating over the prospect of this.

Remember the stay home for 15 days to Flatten The Curve , in NJ

this is a VERY good question. There were 2000 fans at Monmouth Park last weekend. Seems the Governor said 25% was ok for them.
He also said NJ Casinos could operate at 25%. Yet Rutgers Stadium can only operate at less than 1%? You'll have more people inside the Borgata than in Rutgers stadium. This haphazard approach is mindboggling.

Make no mistake...the end point of this whole process is nothing this fall...at least at the collegiate level. NFL I could not care less...

Time to start alternate entertainment plans this fall!
Entertainment?Granted to some RU FB is only that. To others, myself included,it is a B1G part of our lives.

Outdoors and using the entire stadium can easily accomodate 10-15K and keep groups apart. Maybe they fear everyone just moving down to the lower level once in the stadium and Murphy doesn't trust people to act like adults.

After what we have experienced out west for the past month, I wouldn't trust anyone to behave as adults.

Nothing has made sense haha. The jokes write themselves at this point.

Will the cameramen be allowed at the games? Seriously can fit a lot more than 500 and adhere to social distancing and mask requirements. This seems so random.

At this point I’d be estactic to watch any games from home. Give me my money back.

How much profit is the AD set to lose based on no fans/concessions/parking?

Anyone going to offer to donate their 2020 season ticket money so that Schiano and staff are not asked to give back any salary?
They are still working.

With the already ridiculous things happening with just wearing a mask, can anyone honestly say they think a crowd of mostly drunk fans will follow any rules?
If every team has to play with empty stadiums, it will be even for everyone.
Might even help us against some of the usual programs that have 100,000 fans screaming.
Wonder if they are allowed to pipe in fan noise?

Except Illinois just declared a 20% capacity for Memorial Stadium. The B1G has no authority on stadium capacity limits.

It’s not worth getting worked up over any numbers that far off - everything changes by the day.

Bay Stater Murphy has become infatuated with power and his ability to control all aspects of the lives of New Jersey citizens. He probably is amazed at how easy it is to control the citizen sheep of this state with the help of a willing legislature and friendly local media. Once a man tastes this kind of power don't expect him to give it up so easily, we are living in a defacto socialist dictatorship, get used to it.
