Sadly I think it does. I'm shocked he's goneHope it does not hurt recruiting.
I think it might actually help recruiting. He had a miserable offense last year .
I really wanna know why he left to go be a position coach. I know he's worked with Herman but confuses me
How about Mark Helfrich! If true, then I can only hope it's an opportunity for Coach Ash to bring in an established OC from a rising program. It would keep the recruiting momentum and give Coach Ash a sounding board from someone who has seen this rodeo a few times in his career.
The 10%:Guy, 90% of the coaches out there would leave for a job at Texas, like it or not.
He and Hermann were really tight.Mehringer was a good recruiter and the kids really seemed to like him. He was not a good offensive coordinator. However, we need to find someone who could run the power spread and run it effectively. I don't know why Mehringer would leave being a position coach, to an offensive coordinator, to go back to being a position coach. Unless Texas paid him substantially more money. Which could easily be the case. Either that or he was pushed out.
Can't teach speed!
Welcome to the Banks!
Maybe Chip Kelly wants it after he gets fired in San Fran

Mehringer is a prodigy. Hopefully not a big loss...
I don't disagree with your first sentence, but I LOL'd at the last one. Hope he spent more time on offensive schemes and teaching his players and position coaches how to implement his schemes.Don't underestimate his ability to connect with recruits. Despite a dreadful year offensively, his younth and enthusiasm I thought was refreshing. Wouldn't doubt he taught the coaches how to post gifs on twitter.
Does an awful job and flees. Nice! So loyal to Ash who gave him the biggest break of all time. I would have rather Ash demote him as he did seem like a good recruiter but don't let the door hit him on the way out.
Bad hire from day one. Lot of people on this board have some significant apologizing to do and crow to eat.
Hope Ash brings someone with real D1 experience, ala, The Fridge.
Ash is calling Matt Canada right now. . . .Giving up an OC position at a P5 program for an up and coming HC to become a position coach speaks volumes.
Follow the money (OC vs WR) and draw your own conclusions.
Will Rutgers stay with the spread offense concept or will the new OC modify the offensive strategy with Ash approval.
Interesting
HAIL TO PITT!!!!
