1) Flood fired tomorrow/Monday
2) Schiano ready to go, thanks to Brown..
3) Julie fired
4) Schiano gets input to hand pick his AD/partner

One can dream, right?

We do need a strong leader in there. While I have no problems with the job JH has done, i don't have any strong positive feelings about it either. But strong leadership has never come to mind when thinking about her.

Um sorry but I dont want a football coach calling the shots in the athletic department
Agreed, it's like saying that a new employee has a say on whom their new boss is. It's ass backwards. There needs to be checks and balances. Otherwise you get into situations like PSU.

Lol. You do realize that last time schism had a major say in who was ad we got an amateur who hired flood and rice right?

The football coach is hand picking the AD?!? Boy, our perfect scenario has sunk to new lows. Maybe the 50-50 raffle winner should pick Schiano's assistants while we're at it

If the football coach is Greg Schiano than I would like him to have total autonomy on all things football. Answering to the Pres. or BOG. Let the AD take care of the rest. We need to come back strong or not at all. This, of course, is based on HCKF departing, like most of you feel, which I do not see happening.

My perfect scenario is GS comes on as football coach and architect for that sport's direction with Julie staying and handling all else ... That's my dream scenario

I think Hermans problem is that the big Donors want her out. While I have no concrete proof of this there has been some scuttlebutt that some of the biggest Donors are still pissed over the Pernetti firing. If you step out of the box and think about it for a moment, ask yourselves how does a school get an invite to the B10 and agrees to keep a coach like Kyle Flood and hire an AD the caliber of JH? Something doesn't add up guys. I believe a power struggle is beginning to brew behind the scenes and I sincerely believe it involves Trenton (politics) and some very wealthy people.

If Schiano returns as head coach, I turn in my decades of season tickets. He never beat West Virginia, and in most years he was not as good as Cinn and Louisville. His biggest win was against Louusville. His bowl wins were not against good teams--that icludescK State. His efficacy significantly declined in his last couple of years. How could he EVER defeat Nebraska, Wisconsin, Michigan and even lowly Penn State when he could not defeat the upper Big East teams consistently. Schiano: NO. Old Timer

I have no doubt that there are donors who were mad that Pernetti was fired, but if they're still mad enough about it to take it out on his successor years later, I'm not sure RU ought to want their money. It's not like she fired Pernetti or sidled up to Barchi and said she'd take the job if it was available.

As for the question, leaving aside that JH was the best-qualified person RU had hired in years (and the other finalist would have been, too), there is nobody - even at RU - who has any illusions about why the B1G invite came, and it wasn't because the Athletic Department was a well-oiled, well-funded machine. Anybody who thought that a top P5 conference AD would leave an existing job to come to Rutgers at the time (particularly considering RU likely wasn't paying top dollar) was awfully optimistic.

Schiano scheduled incredibly weak. Couldn't beat anybody except Louisville and USF. Bowl games against weak teams. Couldn't beat a real team like wvu. He would be JUST LIKE KYLE IN THE BIG 10.

Have you seen the list of potential coaches -- as listed by various prognosticators?

Good luck with getting your man like Miles and Richt. We're not even in the running for second tier prospects. But your nose is stuck in the air when it comes to the best coach/program builder Rutgers has ever had.
